One of the most consistent, underrated, cultural pillars in Hip Hop. Jada the Tim Duncan of the rap game. Flawless fundamentals, true to the game, a dog and stays out the way. His name is automatically respected and when you look back at the resume, you cant deny the greatness. Classic albums, classic verses, love on every coast. Battles w 50, Beans, multiple time Verzuz winner and his authenticity/integrity has never been questioned. Kids, do your homework. Hes one of them.

@@RUFFENDSand that doesn’t mean you have to throw insults. He said to paraphrase, it wouldn’t be sincere to beef and throw shots at someone’s work when you are actually a fan of that. It’s dishonest to him. That has nothing to do with being soft. He can make songs and prove how nice he is without beefing directed at an individual he considered a friend on some level. Game in a recent interview mentioned beefs he didn’t take part in because he was a fan of their work. Does that make game soft?

I guess Kiss is the only one with some sense on the matter, cause most people swear Cole is shivering in his boots..lol…which is not the case. He explained why he feels how he feels. He didn’t really feel a way about what Kendrick said. It’s funny how ya’ll want him to battle someone he don’t wanna battle…which would only result in a lackluster battle.

I remember how Piggy Bank dropped and the next morning Hot 97 was playing Checkmate. Jadakiss was like, "yo I was just chilling and some kid was like 'Yo Kiss what you gonna say back to 50?' and I was like what?, they played it and I ran straight to the studio."

Back in the day you really had to prove yourself. I remember hearing MC and DJ battles on the radio Live. Finger glued to the record button. Not to mention, artists used to frequent the clubs and battle on the spot along with the Breaking crews. There was no freebies! And what's crazy there was no internet, yet you heard about the battles immediately.

Dissing someone on a record comes with a lot of stressful nights and studying your opponent. Cole and Kendrick are people’s that came up with each other.

What we forget is these guys were gangstas and they were really beefing. It didn’t stay on wax. People got hurt behind some of these rap beefs. As a fan, I want a good battle. As a human, I don’t want to see fake beefs that may lead to serious consequences. I see clearly that they have skills.

The Kendrick/Drake beef was the best thing to happen in hip hop for years. It piqued peoples attentiveness to lyricism again, which may have been part of Kendrick’s plan.

So basically jadakiss said talking down the next man on wax (which means they don’t mean what they say they will do) is what the culture (black community) needs. Instead of linking up for the culture

@@trillbizm-doc2641that’s completely asinine. And you don’t know his truth in which he spoke it. Just because everyone else wants him to make diss tracks and respond, he doesn’t feel he needs to. He actually likes his catalog, and who he is. So why he gonna pretend he don’t and make up insults to appease ppl who aren’t even gonna buy the songs. Yall need to grow up. This is his job, same as us who work. You gonna base time at your job to respond to everyone who makes a comment? All he needs to do is make great music. That’s the response.

It would have been mature not to respond in first place as a man you gotta mean what you say and say what you mean.

Rap is not competitive anymore because it's much easier to make money from it now and to create a platform for yourself whereby you can be seen. Back in the day rappers had to put out mixtapes and battle a plethora of other talented emcees with unique styles just to get record deals . Rappers had to get the respect of the streets before an A&R looked in their direction and they were judged on skill more than anything else. In the 90s when the G-Funk era rose to prominence Hip Hop started to slowly stray away from pure lyricism which New York prided itself on and sound ,song construct and themes began to take priority. This allowed for rappers like Tupac to overshadow so many because while not being the most lyrical , Tupac's song making ability was much greater than alot of his peers and this made hip hop more digestible and accessible to mainstream America. Ofc New York and the east coast had to adapt to this and rappers like Biggie and Jay Z and Nas were able to balance lyricism with song making ability. Later artistes like Jah Rule ,50 cent , Nelly would prove that the ability to make good songs that people could feel or vybe to would outweigh lyricism but alot of New York emcees continued to fight against this and kept lyrically beefing and battling one another to prove who is the best and that was no longer a priority for record labels who saw how much money Hip Hop could make once incorporated into Pop Culture. Dumbed down lyrics ,catchy hooks and catchy beats became the most important thing and Atlanta became the centre of attention in Hip Hop as a result. This has only increased as time has gone by and old traditions of what it was to be an emcee is no longer valued and many have lost the art. It's all about money and the soul of it has been taken away.
