Sorry fellow fountain pen enthusiasts, I mixed up the name of the Leonardo pen in my writing sample and script at 2:52 and 3:20 respectively. The pen should be called the Magico instead of Magica. Cheers!

To improve the flow of ink you can also add a little drop of dishwasher detergent to the ink to break up the surface tension.

Matthew, another superlative comparison. Amongst other Pilots, I have a Custom 823 & a 742; the 823 has a standard Fine nib, the 742, an FA, #10, so in this regard I cannot (personally) make a comparison - as per your presentation, here. That said, I am in accord with your conclusions for, at least, the #10 nib - it is somewhat 'precious' in it's handling, & there is a decided 'sweet spot' for obtaining the best results with same. I would (also) concur that generally, the #15 blade, being slightly larger, offers an improved writing experience. In their own regard, they are both wonderful writing instruments, but naturally, it is invariably the 'business end' that (we) concern ourselves with, & without which, we have a moderately expensive scribe that is dysfunctional. Like yourself, I have no pressing need to dispense with either of these two pens - each fills a niche within (their) remit. Always a pleasure - I subscribed on watching your first video presentation - thank you !!

I have a Pilot Custom Heritage 912 with the Falcon flex nib and the Con 70 converter. Standard feed. Flex heaven. I have never had a flow problem using Pilot Blue black ink.

I am having fun with Chinese made Naginata nibs at the moment. Bargain prices. I also have a vintage Conway Stewart pen with a beautiful 14k nib. Such a lovely soft flexy writer. Using it is like a Rolls Royce compared to the Pilot 912 which is more like a Toyota Land Cruiser

743 is all about the nib options. I personally do not own one, but I really like the #15 FA. I heard good things about it being a good value workhorse pen because of the simple look and it being well balanced.

I shot the video quite some time ago so my memory might not be 100%accurate, but this is what I could recall: Paper: Tomoe River Paper 68gsm Ink on ＃10 should be Sailor's Sailor the one on the 823 should be Sailor Manyo Nadeshiko

You can search muzepens on Instagram and Facebook. They are quite responsive to direct messages. You are too kind to complement my writing style. It is from years of randomly practising scripts from different books and websites (iampeth.com is a good place to start). I would recommend joining local calligraphy workshops or getting a book to start practising with. Some famous calligraphers sometimes tours around different cities to hold masterclasses/workshops as well.

Super video. I didn't know the no.10 will fit into a Jowo nib unit. Did you use a Jowo or No.10 feed? Apologies if I missed that. My Momento Zero (3 ring Jowo nib version) nib unit and feed are keyed so I can't seem to get a FNF no.6 ebonite Jowo feed to fit. I've tried heat setting as well. The FNF ebonite nib unit also has the wrong threads for the MZ.

Hi Mr. Chan, I was going over your video again to be able to understand the differences that you point out on both pen models, just to be sure I understood correctly, you mentioned that your #10 Nib was customized to write from a needlepoint width to broad? and how about your #15 Nib? that one is writing on your demo. just the way it came from factory, or was it customized also? thank you so much for your excellent video, I can assure you that if you were to give lessons on this type of writing you would have many, many followers. thank you again. The #15 nib is the stock nib. It wrote finer than the #10 nib out of the box. I felt that I can get more line variation in the #10 nib because of its softness so I decided to get the customisation on that nib. Both nibs are great options if you are considering a modified nib.

Hi Mr Chan, I was wondering if in your experience know if the Pilot 912 FA nib and the Pilot 742 FA nib have the exact same nibs performance wise aside from the Rhodium plating, or does the Rhodium coating chages it's flex capabilities, I am truly interested in the one that has the most bounciness, ease of flex.
