Where does it fit in CAP Theorem?
@_____case Жыл бұрын
It's a CP database. If a network partition occurs, transactions will fail.

CP, with very strong guarentees on the consistency side (and maintains that in practice in torture tests by Jepsen, unlike common HA setups on top of traditional databases). It also actually enforces serializability by default and using any weaker isolation level requires manually lowering it, instead of having to raise it from Read Committed or whatever. Availability is still pretty good in practice, their cloud service has a four nines SLA

A stupid question: what's RTOP/RPO?
@Im_Ninooo2 жыл бұрын
not sure if there was a typo but Google corrects "RTOP" to "RTO" which stands for "Recovery Time Objective" while RPO is "Recovery Point Objective". quoted from a website (n-able) that I cannot link or youtube will delete my comment :) "Essentially, RPO has to do with backup frequency, while RTO relates to the recovery timeline. When there is a system outage, the RPO and RTO are two data points that can tell you how seriously the downtime has impacted a customer’s business operations."
