I bought the large size to put a swag on but sold it due the terrible lengthwise wobble. I replaced it with an Oztrail which is as solid as the proverbial rock! The issue is the old tech cross legs combined with the lightweight brackets and rivets. Plenty of better options in my opinion (from Snowy's of course)

Agreed, there is a bit of longitudinal wobble on these, LongStraightLines, and whilst there are sturdier options there aren't any with the built in padding that these have, which provides some insulation without an extra mat. Just gotta weigh up the pros and cons I guess, thanks for your feedback. ~ Ben

Is there a reason why the end bars protrude so far on either side? I have an RV4 with plenty of room for 2 stretchers, but always wondered if i could just cut the excess ends off?
@SnowysOutdoors
@SnowysOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
They're there to give you space to hold easily for leverage @Sami Paakki. Generally the longer end piece is the last one you connect, and due to the tension the stretchers are under, especially when new, this extra bit of length can help. ~ Lauren

Nice one Ben. Do you need a mat on-top? Best fitting mat for the King Goanna? Cheers. Love your work. Your boss should double your pay!

Thanks for your feedback, Gez, I've shared your thoughts with my boss... still waiting for their reply. You don't need a mat on top as these stretchers have some padding, but it will certainly make it more comfortable and warmer in the winter months. I reckon the best mat is one of the square sided self inflating mats like the Exped Megamat or Zempire Monstamat. Either of these will make your stretcher super comfortable. ~ Ben

Ben what goes best on top of those mate? Swag or self inflating matt?
@SnowysOutdoors
@SnowysOutdoors 4 жыл бұрын
Personal preference really, The Thirsty Goose. These can be used without anything but your sleeping bag on top, a self inflating may increases comfort and insulation, while a swag, if it fits, provides extra comfort, insulation and shelter. ~ Ben

Do you typically use a mat along with these as well?
@SnowysOutdoors
@SnowysOutdoors 3 жыл бұрын
That's entirely up to you woolengrappler. I'd suggest trying it sans mat to start with and see how comfortable you find them. The Oztent stretchers have a bit of padding/insulation in the fabric so many people find them comfortable as is. On the flip side, a lot of people do add mats to the top of these to meet their comfort requirements. ~ Ben

They'll all fit @Alex Mansell...too long to run front to back, but side to side no worries. Whichever one you go with will just be personal preference on size. ~ Lauren

Oztent don't make a double stretcher, Jamie, but other brands do. Only issue is that there is always a bar running down the centre, which can make it a little uncomfortable with a swag on top. ~ Ben
