To a similar extent as honey bees although depending on the variety the stingers are different. No bee suit is guaranteed sting proof. Often if I know they are going to be super cranky like if I have to work them on a cold windy day then I will put jeans and a hoody on underneath for extra protection. If you're alergic I dont know how much i would trust it. If you just want extra assurance for removing a nest then its fine.
