Hi Johnny- Very nice shave and comparison video; thank you! The shave seemed much smoother for you on the Kai side, and you are looking very comfortable with the kamisori, in general. I hope your week gets off to a great start. All the best, Johnny!

Mike H Thanks my friend😊 Yes the Kai blade is for me👍 not a clue why the feather is so dull. Wish you a great start of the week 🌞

Nice blade comparison. I am definitely going to have to find some Kai blades. You are looking more comfortable and confident with that shavette every time you video it. Keep up the great videos. Have a great week, my friend.

Ckiefer Thank you my friend. There are 3 different feather blades. I guess the professionals the black dispencer is the only that work from feather. I'm happy with the Kai. Its a very sharp and more important smooth blade. Try them and let me know what you think of them?

Il sapone non è montato bene, troppa acqua, così non ottieni nessuna protezione e nessuna scorrevolezza della lama ... Poi lo shavette lo tieni troppo indietro sul manico, prova a tenerlo più vicino alla lama così hai più controllo
@albertodalmaso8896 Жыл бұрын

I have no kamisori experience but I like the Kai DE blades and always assumed the kamisori blades they make would be good too.

Hey boss, i’ve been asking around and haven’t got any answers yet but... I was PIF’ed a RazoRock BlackHalk SE some time ago and was wondering about how many Shaves can the average guy expect to get from the Feather Professionals? Thanks alot 🙏🏻😁
@johnny67a4 жыл бұрын
Hi. Hard to say! The only professional blade that wotked for me was the Super. If you have and average type of stubbles you should get +6 good shaves at least from the Super. All the best and good luck!

Patrick Eruimy Thanks my friend. The feather is the professional mild. It's shorter blade exposure then the other professional which I have not tested. I guess that one is much better

Great shave! And a very good and fair comparison of the blades. On their website, Feather indicates that those blades are designed primarily for the ladies and for sensitive skin. So, on top of everything else, you've proven that you're a manly man who cannot use such things😉😉😉

Scotty2397 Ha ha ha! Ok now I understand. I'm no lady (at least not the last time I checked) nor have I sensitive skin. So Kai there is in the future. Thanks for the info my friend👌😊

I think you should improve your technique before to write comparisons. Strokes are too much short and your skin has not a good stretch. The soap is very important with straight razor. Your leather seems too much dry. Thanks about the video.

I think its fine that he compare two blades and show how they work for a relative beginner. Experienced users will already have a favorite blade. Those who are new to straight razors will find this to be useful. It helped me.
@jacoporubini43085 жыл бұрын
sorry man but ur problem is not the blade. Your problem is the technique: your razor is way too shaky and the angle is too perpendicular to the skin, so that you are basically reducing the shaving power of the blade and stressing your skin. Also, the feather SS has a builtin technology that works best only with the blade at 20-25 degrees on the skin. Check pro shaving videos and refine ur technique mate.
@johnny67a5 жыл бұрын
I ttied every angle several times shaving with this razor. Of course I and everyone else find the right angle very easy. That is not the problem. You and others claiming you get smooth bbs shaves from a straight or a shavette either has soft stubbles or you lies.
@camilomontoya74123 жыл бұрын
I thought the same things, i was cringing the whole time. That blade was bouncing up and off his skin. Im not saying there is a right way to hold a razor but I think you are too far from the razor head itself.

@@johnny67a sorry to disagree, but this is not personal opinion. This is engineering, this is science: each and every blade (not only shaving blades) are thought and engineered to be used at a certain angle to effectively cut. And your angle is just wrong. With a shavette, you can go between 15/20 to 30 degrees, but no more, no less, otherwise you just are not engaging the skin in the right way, as for the blades were thought and built. It's not a matter of opinion. Again: it's science. And this applies especially to ultra precise blades like those of shavette. And again: the Feather SS has a head technology that works best at around 20/25 degrees, as you can read on their website or in the razor specs. Btw: I'm an affectionate user of my Feather SS and yes, after years of practice, I am able to get a BBS shave with a single pass (at first I had to get 3 passes and I wouldnt even have a BSS). Not because my beard is soft (all the contrary), but because I studied and refined my technique (and yes, with quite a loss of blood during the years). Be humble man: you'll be sure to get your smooth shave. But if you don't want to get and try the suggestions people give you, well you're free to do.
@dimriky3 жыл бұрын
@@johnny67a also, you say in the video you were new to kamisori. Well, here you go: kamisori are not easy to get used to at first. It's normal to have problems with angle and pressure without the firmness of the traditional handle. Also, I watched the video again and I noticed you don't even stretch your skin with your fingers: it's basically impossible to get a clean shave without firmly stretching your skin. Again, this is science, not personal opinion: our skin is soft and "plastic" and, if you don't stretch it, it naturally opposes the shaving blade, causing tugging and cuts. That's why ALL pro barbers always firmly stretch the skin (and this is taught also in the oldest shaving manual of all, which was a French one of the XVII century). I have many things to say also about your grip, which totally inconsistent and looks everything but firm. But the again, I'll stop here, since it's clear you don't want suggestions. But at least respect the art of shaving and don't accuse others of being liars: straight razors, de razors and shavette are all made to produce BBS shaves, with a single pass with the right technique. But if you deny this in your mind, you'll never get there.
