Starfart looks like mule droppings. Nice light-gray "space" they got going there. ED FTW.

Nice comparison, hey you can run a LOT further by jumping or "bunny hopping" as the amount of sprint energy is only used when on ground. You do have 2 energy refills on you. Yeah I have over 9k hours on elite, I just wish I started playing earlier, I didn't start playing until Odyssey launched. Haven't played Starfield, but Ive seen reviews and its not really a space sim like Elite, seems more of a RPG adventure game. Great idea for a vid! o7

Thanks for taking time to comment. Great tip but, I think even with bunny hopping the travelling on foot in Elite wouldn't have been as fast as Starfield. Everything in Elite is just done to a huge Scale and although the distance looked similar between the two games, I think the distance was far greater on Elite. Refills, I tend to keep them for combat situations. 9k hours is some achievement, I have always said once I have played Elite for the equivalent of a year I would stop playing but, I probably wouldn't, I always go back to it. Starfield definitely isn't a space sim. I would categories it more as an Adventure game with RPG elements. o7

Haha yeah it pretty much takes forever to do anything in Elite, thanks for the reply :) o7 @@AndyFirebladeMuza

I wish E:D Odyssey had the depth and abundance of a living breathing universe to explore and interact with (as with any Bethesda RPG) that we have in Starfield. Also, being able to walk around your ship and board other ships in Starfield..... That would be the perfect game. The ultimate space sim. And then just expand the multiplayer - far higher player count support on a single server, with more focus on player economy. This would really be the ultimate space sim, its right there - a combination of these two games. Elite for the general space sim features/gameplay, and Starfield for the RPG and interactable world (as well as ship interiors/boarding other ships). Atm it feels like we're stuck in the middle of the two. We can't have it all, yet. Still waiting. But both are so incredibly close. Overall E:D has accomplished the most important part - which is the space simulation, the seamless travel, the scale and realism, the overall immersion from that. But the fleshed out content and ship interior gameplay of Starfield is what E:D needs. I find myself more engaged with Starfield due to the content, and I love having the ability to walk around my ship, in space, and board other ships - this is as important a feature as planetary landing - it cannot be understated - I didn't think it would be, but it is just as important imo for overall immersion and fun. VR is the final destination though. Regardless of the content, nothing is more immersive than E:D in VR. Starfield in VR (mod) is what I'm waiting for at this point. That's the next best thing.

Thanks for the comment, very much appreciated. Starfield has a lot to do without a doubt, and the way they have implemented the ship interior is really good. I like that you aren't forced to walk around the ship interior as they have gave you the option to go straight to the cockpit or exit the ship. The multiplayer instance got a lot better with Odyssey. I found you could have far more player in the same instance within Odyssey with no impact on performance. Before Odyssey the multiplayer experience would get very laggy. Agreed, a combination of Elite and Starfield would be incredible. Elite has definitely accomplished a lot. No one can take that away from the game it's just unfortunate that has become a little stale IMO. I'm also more engaged with Starfield at the moment, it just feels exciting and feels like I am actually doing things inb the game rather than just being a number in a sim. I know many people who would agree with regarding VR. o7

I agree, but I think the problem is Elite is 10 years old, they use an engine that they modified and added many things to it over the years, and the folks that did a majority of that are no longer employed there, and they just dont have the revenue stream to implement anything big, I was surprised they were able to add the Titans to the game. For anything like what you are suggesting it would require "Elite 2" IMHO.

The game between starfield and elite is still in development. It’s called Star citizen, once that is done it will be the ultimate space sim!

nice video. Calisto is the most cratered object in the solar system. This is not in the game Starfield, the flat tops of the mountains do not look realistic. Elite makes a better job at simulating real planets.

Thanks for the comment, nothing better than interacting with those who take time to comment. Without a doubt Elite is by far more realistic but when it comes to games the vast majority don't want realism, they just want gameplay. A prime example is CoD, just look at how many more people play CoD in comparison to the far mor realistic Hell Let Loose. I prefer realism myself.

It really depends the most important aspect of Elite is a simulation of being a commander. I do not know how starfield commander is expected to feel. Maybe from roleplaying RPG it is unbeatable. @@AndyFirebladeMuza

@@JG27Korny Starfield can be an adventure/RPG but like Elite, you can blaze your own trail. Once you get the prologue missiona out of the way you don't have to follow any quest line if you don't want to.

I think Starfield is a nice addition. I look at those games as supplementary not exclusive to each other. Until now for lush planets we had only NMS. @@AndyFirebladeMuza

Could never get into no man's sky, I so wanted to like it but after 20 hours of trying it just didn't do it for me. I know a lot has changed with it but I just can't be bothered to try again. Elite on the other hand gave me everything I wanted. Starfield has me very engaged and I can see my self playing for a long time.

@@AndyFirebladeMuzaI feel no man’s sky was a very arcade like view of space, simular to starfield. Star citizen and elite opt for more realism and harder to deal with situations
