Any advice on the 4th Gen Dots? They have 3 version on Amazon I'm seeing, regular, regular with clock, then one with premium sound and a "home hub". Not sure if the home hub does anything, as aren't you able to interconnect any of them already?

I just got a Sonos One I originally wanted a Echo Studio but they are out of stock until next year 😪 😢 😫 which is messed up. But I plan on getting Sonos Architectural speakers with Sonos amp when I build a house which is an amazing sound system btw. The new Sonos One speaker I got for some reason the Alexa doesn't function no where near as well as my Echo device-is that normal? Sometimes I have to ask it 3 different times to do what I want as it picks the wrong thing, I can ask Echo and it gets it right the first time.

Sonos software interface is garbage. Had a bunch of play five grouped and every time the power went out it was an absolute nightmare to set up again. Never again. The sound was fantastic but the absolute frustration of keeping them working correctly made it unbearable.

Could you do 1 studio now and then get another later? If that’s beyond the budget then just a pair of echos or like a sound bar, you could even do an affordable speaker set with an input and connect a cheap echo with aux out to it.

Depends what you want to do, both are great but if you want to watch anything, view cameras or use the dashboard I'd go with the show 5. We did those in our offices to quickly see whose at door, display photos etc. and just the clocks in bedrooms

Pretty much, though a few have zigbee radios built in so you can connect some smart home devices directly without using a hub which can be handy. Some people also like having an aux out, and the far field listening is a notable improvement

If I still owned all of these I'd do an updated video, we have the latest versions in our house now including Show 5 in my office. For the money though I think I like the Show 8 the most right now, followed by the 15 and interestingly enough the previous version of Echo Dot with clock

Press the button on your echo depending on what generation you have press the button with the microphone with the line through or the bottom with the line through the circle

The echo spot was discontinued in 2019 but I found one for this video, of course there has been quite a few new echo devices since the creation of this video. I still like the gen 3 dot with clock, the show 8 & the studio the most. Checkout my full home tour, I’m always testing different products since I write for realtor magazine

Perhaps areas where you’ve already got other screens, like with a FireTV or maybe a bedroom. They’re also a lot cheaper, even more so back when this was published. In general I’d only recommend buying them when they’re on sale
