I'm waiting for Soft Glam to arrive tmrrw, but I have the MR and Prism. Nice to hear others opinions! I don't really even care for the Prism. Wish I had returned it actually. I like the mattes, but the shimmers don't last that long on me, and the shades just aren't my favorite. I'm not creative enough to know which ones to use together other than maybe 2 looks/combinations lol. I'm impatiently waiting for FedEx to deliver Soft Glam tmrrw!

Thank you! And from my experience with the abh brushes, they work well the first couple uses but then the bristles wear down easily and become scratchy and uncomfortable to use on my eye, the UD ones I haven’t had any problems with 😊

I so agree with you about the reds in the Modern Renaissance palette. They are beautiful & look great on other people, but when I put them on it makes me look like I have pink eye 🙁. I am waiting until the 6th...which is today on east coast.... for the Soft Glam to be sold at Ulta. Can’t wait to get my hands on it.

I LOVE how nicely you blended the MR shadows! That is my favorite way to wear eye shadow - gradient neutrals from light to dark, and a beautiful shimmery lid. I didn't get the MR palette because of what you mentioned - I wouldn't be wearing the Berry-ish tones either, so the Soft Glam would be the way to go for me, so thank you so much for the comparison and your thoughts!

I have panned MR and am repurchasing and getting soft glam. I think the crossover shades are the more staple constant use shades so it can't hurt for then to be in both! I know tempera was what I panned first so I don't find having two of it!

My sister borrowed me her MR palette for a while and I used to love the texture of the shadows and I also loved the more pinkish red colors, but what I was really missing was some kind of mid-colored shimmer shade for the whole lid. While I liked the shimmer shades in the MR, I think they're often too light compared to the matte shades in this palette. A week ago I decided to get the SG palette, because I really fell in love with the ABH shadows and I thought, that I would get more use out of the SG. It has all I was asking for in the MR, nice mid-toned shimmer shades like rose pink and bronze, even sultry. I'm exited to try out my new palette a lot in the future!

These look pretty similar. Dark, intense colors don't work for my style, so both of these palettes are oriented toward looks that I know I'm just not going to wear. I rarely use my MR palette, so this one is not going to work any better for me, I think.

I've never bought a high end eyeshadow palette, and I'm considering saving up for one of these. I prefer the soft glam colors but in this video, I prefer the modern renaissance eyeshadow look. I'm turning sixteen soon so you better believe that when I get a job, I'm blowing all my money on fancy makeup lol. I'm a little worried about what colors will look good on my skin though, since I have a pretty strong pink undertone.

The difference with the Tempura shades is that in the Modern Renaissance it is a Matte more than shimmer. Whereas in the Soft Glam it is an Ultra Matte so the formula is a bit different being an Ultra Matte. Hope that made sense. I just ordered the soft glam on Sephora website. In Canada they are 55$ however the single shadows are 4 for 50$ and include the little quad palette to put them in. The single pans are bigger however if you do the math it is so worth the price point being the quality is top notch. I don't get a lot of money to spend so when I can get something as luxurious as this I make sure I know everything about them. Hahaha! Love your review it was very well informed and well thought out. Bravo!

Fallout honestly doesn't bother me, I feel it's a pretty good indicator of blendability. I always do the lower half of my foundation last if I'm using a deeper eyeshadow anyways. I have a KVD eyeshadow quad that I love and the fallout is horrendous yet so very soft and easy to blend. I have never bought a full size high end palette until Soft Glam because I felt it was so complete and had a beautiful color story that I could use daily. My other shadows are just for a pop of color anyways so this way I don't have to reach for other neutrals in my z palette. Overall a wonderful palette.

I have both these pallets and I adore them. MR was a gift and my very first good pallet and the soft glam I purchased myself. Personally I am able too do more looks with MR because I find it easier to work with the colors together but I find myself using both pallets for one look. The main reason I love the soft glam is because it has colors I wished MR had like the color Murberry in SG is a nice dark red that I like teaming up with red ochre from MR. Also I don't mind the repetition of colors because the colors they repeated are the colors I use most often so it works in my favor.

Soft Glam is the best, because you can use it for the day with all these neutral colours and you have the shimmers for the night for instance, although it seems you have much more fallout than the MR !

I think the modern Renaissance compliments better darker skin tones cause, neutrals aren't very visible on darker skin ( and I'm not even black) even the flashiest color, you can lighten them up by mixing them with neutral shades. I think the modern Renaissance is more manageable and multiusage than the new one honestly

Both palettes look great but if I could only choose 1 then I would go with the modern renaissance b/c it has more matte shades and great reds

Newww subscriber here. I live how calming your voice is and i love the details in the review. Hope i can have my hands on the MR palette since i own similar shades like the soft glam (not as highend but i can work it out) hoping they wont discontinue it for the next 2 years.
