It's nice that you mentioned that it looks like it came from the Maketoys era, because I think this should have come out during the Inferno wars, but XTB opted to delay it and not compete in the saturated market.

You are correct Dante was supposed to come out in 2016 when XTB announced but decided to give it a over 6 year delay because of the MP

Takara bot mode is hard to beat. So stable, accurate and well articulated. I am loving the x-transbots truck mode though

I prefer the xtb but I have to say the takara is a great looking bot, I'm getting xtb's grapple as well so they will fit better for my collection. I only joined the collecting game in 2020 so missed a lot of the early takara releases. I'm glad companies like xtb are coming out with different versions. I really hope fans toys redo a lot of the car bots takara did

I don't think you can go wrong with either figure. They just serve different purposes. The official version is for those who prioritise toon accuracy, and XTB's offering is for people who want a little spice in their collection.

Great video TM. These are both great figures, but my nod goes to TT. I still can't get over how they got the ladder to fold into the back. One of my top 5 all time MP figures.

I'll probably get their Hauler. I already have the TT, Ocular Max, and Maketoys versions of Inferno. The TT one is my bot version and the other two will be for vehicle modes.

I do not consider myself a great connoisseur of the masterpiece scale, but since I saw the xtransbots in their first reviews, I thought that I would choose the takara without a doubt, both inferno and grapple, with everything they can tell me in the alternate way (yes, the one from xtransbots is better for me), they are a better option for me. 👍

If you judge this on its own, the X-Transbot is a better toy, and a better bot because of better details both in bot mode and alt mode; not as toon accurate as the Takara one, which means its not full re-turd. Takara is ultra toon accurate which means its full re-turd, I know a lot of people are into that. I will give engineering to Takara though, as hiding that ladder into the body was genius.

Both of these figures are good & each has strengths over the other imo...I don't think either will look off in a display...I am getting the Artfire XTB variant but I'm keeping my Takara inferno & Grapple...this way I can enjoy having both molds without having to double up on a character...I think any collector should look into the XTB Hauler or Artfire variant if they already have Takara Grapple & Inferno...

The Toon Accuracy category should not be included on your scoring list because 3rd party manufacturers produce their representation of a figure as compared to Takara who is shooting for a toon-accurate figure. So anytime you have a comparison between a Takara figure and a 3rd party one, the 3rd party will always lose a point for toon-accuracy. Take for example, Maketoys Gundog vs Takara's Hound or XTB's Apollyon vs Takara's Megatron or Fanstoys Phoenix vs. Takara's Jetfire.

XTB often go very cartoon accurate actually. But I think this time they didn’t do it it’s cuz the MP is so good at it already for this inferno, so they changed their plan in order to make their version beats Takara from other points.

The video I was waiting for! And seeing them next to each other, that ladder really is an eyesore considering you don't even see it on the Takara. Gives the XTB the Toyworld Constructicon problem, in that the individual bot modes are so unsightly from the back (and arguably, from the front I suppose). But the Takara is almost double in price in 2022, and I don't know if it's worth that just to hide the ladder.

I'm keeping TT Inferno and Grapple for the cartoon looks and slew of accessories... and wii get XT Tirador (Artfire) and Caravaggio (green Hauler), since those last two don't have a cartoon model anyway.

Looking at them together, I'm actually surprised how odd the XTB Dante's legs are. Both have the shorter thighs compared to the lower leg length, but the XTB one's thighs seem quite a lot narrower due to him not having the large red circles jutting out of the side of the thighs like the official.

I don't understand why the degree of motion was removed from the articulation. The degree of motion is important. Imagine a figure where the elbows and knees only have 1 degree of movement compare to something with over 90. Just cause the joint is there doesn't mean they're equal.

I took it out because range is subjective, for example, if one figure has an ab crunch but the other figure doesn't have ab crunch but has deeper ankle tilts and knee bends, who wins? It becomes subjective as to which thing is more important and that was too hard to score.

Two major things I don't like about the XTB - 1) the ladder not tucking away in robot mode, and 2) the way the waist narrows, which has the effect of making it look like a cab sitting on top of a pair of legs.

Inferno byTakra is one of the more perfect figures they made. X-Transbots made a mistake to release a competitor for such a perfect figure. One of the most amazing things about the figure is its cleanliness in the back as well. Hiding the ladder is simply engineering genius! Inferno and Grapple are Masterpieces by Takara!

An easy choice for me: since I want a close cartoon accuracy, Takara Tomy's version is the best there is and probably the best there ever will be. Although I actually have a knock-off version, but it is so well made that it might as well be the official one. I am certain that I will never replace it with any other company's version.
