Great video. 👌🏻 Would like to see an updated video about installing a tapered fork on a non-tapered headset/frame. Thanks.

At the 16:06 time, “make sure the bead of the tire is in the valley of the rim”? It can not be totally in the valley of the rim with the valve stem inhibiting it. Start opposite the valve and finish at the valve to give yourself maximum clearance of the tire bead over the rim.

Nice. A second camera for closeups would make wonders.

I use DH casing tires on my park bike and have gone through SO much tape from ruining it when installing tires. The casing is just SO tight. Making sure both beads are down in that channel all the way around when you get to that last tight spot is the most important step IMO. Then, some soapy water and try to completely avoid using levers. Nothing worse than thinking you're all done, only to find it leaking when you put air in b/c you caught the edge of the tape during the install. UGH!!!

I managed to do it first try and never done it before. From factory both wheels leaked(Pivot) so I just suspect time crunch and rush bodged the job. It's not rocket science, and a heat gun is a good friend to have.

Gorilla Tape works excellent too in a pinch! 😂😂

Always 2 layers, not just 1.... Also go back around pressing the tape against the rim well in the center and on the sides. Poke the whole from the bottom up. It will line up your valve better than guessing front top down. Jesus, always work opposite valve to valve when installing a tire...
