The shifting mound never scared me, but rather it did always make me feel welcome. She always spoke with softness and compassion. To the point that I almost missed her each time I’d reset. So many paths, and yet each one leads to her, the dark and cold surroundings contrasted by her warm and inviting demeanor. I love the Mound, yet can we truly be together? I represent tradition and procedure and she represents change and chaos. We are diametrically opposed, to coexist is to hurt one another, and yet though this is the case I can not condemn her. Though I existed before her, I feel that now to exist without her would be to exist without meaning. I the Long Quiet, made the Shifting Mound whole, and want to ensure she gains perspective enough that we may coexist.

She just sounds like a good person in general to me tbh
@robertspeedwagon98225 күн бұрын
@funguy3259 The only time when she can sound like an arsehole is during the final confrontation when the LQ gets "violent" in their arguments, and so by definition the Shifting Mound reflects that by being insufferable/high up her own arse

See, I think it's almost strange that I was never frightened by the mound, but always intrigued me. The track filled me like the reassurance of a friend forgotten by time, and the way she was always so truthful and open to you, and how willingly she put her life in your hands, how could I not feel close to this distant entity?

The shiftless mound is one of my favorite horrific entities in fiction. Her form and theme are simply harrowing, but her voice actress made her seem larger than life. What an amazingly beautiful and terrifying monster they concocted
@zachrabaznaz768710 ай бұрын
Terrifying? I was never scared of her, not after the first meeting at least. She should beautiful... and I don't (just) mean the princess. Especially conceptually, she's nothing to fear.
@Noseface10 ай бұрын
@zachrabaznaz7687 Sure, eventually, you grow to sympathize with her over time, but I still think she's pretty terrifying even conceptually. Being in her presence would be an incredibly overwhelmingly harrowing experience. I get it though, everyone has different things that scare us. I find mooses to be majestic and beautiful creatures, but when you see one up close they are pretty scary.

I agree, she does look weird and disproportionate, but with all her eldritch-ness, she's welcoming and caring at the very bottom. She can even love, which is a big thing. It is also implied that even her final form is just a pale imitation.

This game in my perspective can be best described with the word "Inevitable". No matter what we do, it always feels like it will lead to the same result. Like trying to do something impossible but believing it can be done. Like how light is followed darkness, justice can't exist without crime, or especially life followed by death. This game really makes you wish some moments could last forever but you know what lies ahead, and therefore you march on to see the result, just like knowing this comment would eventually end. The end was bound to happen regardless of what actions took and this is what I believe to be the best word to describe this game, "Inevitable."

"Never" is a very big word to throw around. I am guessing you are in your mid-twenties, so don't be too scared. Feeling like this is normal. Love and longing finds everyone sooner or later - the question is whether you will allow yourself to be open to it when your time comes.

The Shifting Mound never scared me, but always gave me mixed and uneasy feelings. Even though she is not evil, her ways DO cause harm (to people, for instance, whom she deems unworthy) and she doesn't seem to care 'bout the consequences of her actions, sayin' that changes are necessary and must be done. The Long Quiet's motives are slightly more acceptable, even if they mean a stale universe at the end of the day. Sometimes it really feels that behind all the love she gives to us, all the endless cascade of smiles, she is pursuing her own agenda, and kinda _uses_ the Long Quiet for it. Exploits, even. Sure she might not be malevolent, but she indeed contains it within her multitudes. It's very hard to explain 😵💫
