Your "rambles" are some of my favorite parts of the Why Files. You never overly sensationalize anything, you do meticulous research, you never try to influence your viewers' opinions; just present the evidence, refute the false stuff, encourage us to draw our own conclusions based on what's left, and not be led astray by biased media, corrupt, politicians/governments. You encourage us to pursue the truth and not fall for lies, coverups, and obfuscation. That's why I love watching the Why Files and will continue to do so.

So I think there’s a weird misunderstanding happening when people say ‘I fall asleep listening to you’. What people mean is that they put a playlist of episodes on as they unwind and head to bed. I fall asleep listening to why files, but I listen to like 2-3 episodes before I fall asleep. It’s like having a parent read a story to you as you go to bed.

AJ, you should embrace Craig Ferguson's take from when he was doing his show: Don't care about the show too much. Don't let the dream of your show become so important that you lose the magic. Craig also embraced the 'sloppiness' of his show and just made it part of the brand. You and your team hit gold, but you are struggling to be perfect, apologizing for mistakes or issues. We loved your show before it ever got as polished as it is now. Relax, enjoy the ride, embrace the 'unprofessional' bits, ignore the haters, and just keep doing honest story telling. We love the show, you, and your team. I want to know that if you did this for 10 or 20 years, you would look back and the happiness would outweigh any negatives.

Depression runs in our family and my biological parents were manic Depression (mom) and schizophrenic (dad). That's why I was adopted. They self medicated through drugs because mental illness was taboo to talk about in both families. They just ignored it until it got out of control with my brother and I having to get taken away from the state to protect us from abuseand neglect. Thankfully my adopted parents were super open and caring and intervened early on to help us deal with a lot of psychological distress. Talking about it by opening up honestly is the only way to get over it. Then you realize that almost everyone else is going through it too. Makes you feel normal and gives you a large support system. This is your outlet to feel good about yourself. We love your work and appreciate it greatly. No pressure. Post as often or as little as you need. AJ, please stop beating yourself up, deep healing takes time. I had to take a break from work for 5mths recently due to a nervous breakdown, complete burnout, depression, anxiety etc etc etc. even though I walk in Faith and that is my root Joy, as a sensitive and intuitive person, I still find ‘life’ to be cruel and harsh. Usually misunderstood because I’m ‘different’ and feel like an alien to this world. It can be very confusing and disheartening for many of us, in fact I think you’d be quite surprised with how many of your audience feel low too. And like me, probably the reason why many of us do have you on ‘in the background’ or to fall asleep to is because you are our ‘comfort blanket’. Doesn’t matter how many times I watch an episode, I still laugh and learn. Thank You. You have helped so many of us get through some really painful and dark times, but please don’t do so at the cost of your own health. Take a proper break and know that us loyal ones will still be here for you when you get back. Always Grateful for all you have given of yourself x As for spitting on your mic, I did exact same in a meeting yesterday 😂 but I was borrowing my bosses mic headset! 🤦♀️

It certainly is. However, I feel the comment section in these videos is overrun by these "well wishes". Nobody seems to discuss the videos AJ has taken so much time to put together. Thank you for your bravery, sharing your life with depression is more than admirable. Though as an older male who also has bouts of depression I can’t say I know how you’re feeling, I can understand what you are feeling. It is important for us to talk about our struggles with depression for ourselves as well as our brothers who share these struggles. You are doing great work, you make the lives of others both more enjoyable and enlightened. I know some days even that is not enough, but the reality is - it truly is. Take good care of yourself, don’t fear leaning on others and tomorrow will be a better day.

I lived in the Mojave desert for 13 years. I loved the desert heat, the vanilla sunsets and the white light mornings. Never saw a rattler or a coyote. Had a daily morning visit from a roadrunner and a brief visit from a tortoise. I miss it.

I bet that Tortoise took one look and said "Too Hot - No Water" and speedily moved on, respectively that is. The Roadrunner, however, never misses an opportunity to race.

@anonaki-mt6xb Desert tortoises get some water from plants. They hibernate during the winter in the high desert. I used to keep a bowl of water in the shade for wandering critters. Our house cat had an ice cubes in the kitty waterer dispenser even though she was indoors. You can dehydrate very quickly in the desert. Perspiration evaporates quickly, so you can require water with electrolytes in it before you're aware of it. I had babies in those days, and I went NOWHERE without at least 5 gallons of water in the car, plus juice, plus pedialyte, plus powdered formula and insulated totes with ice in them. It was 40 miles from our house to the nearest hospital.

It was and still is a wonderful distraction. While I’ll probably never see my children again. I’m still a mental health support worker because I get it. Thank you for discussing your own experience with depression; men especially tend to refuse to discuss struggles with mental health, and the results can be deadly. 3 years ago, my best friend took his life, and I desperately wish he would have tried therapy or medication, or even just called a help line. I found this channel a few months after he passed away, and it's gotten me through some particularly rough nights when I struggled with the thought of wanting to follow him and needed a distraction. These videos are so well done, and were one of the few things that could hold my attention. I appreciate the effort you put into this channel, and hope you take care of your mental health. I don't care if that means fewer updates, I just want you to stick around in the world until your time is up naturally. Thank you for what you do, you've built a community here.
