I just find it weird ppl don’t question some of the things Tsumugi has said and done during this trial. Like for example “She can cosplay the world” or how pre-game Tsumugi hid her identity even though she had no reason to if she was part of the staff of danganronpa. What I find more strange is how Tsumugi herself said she couldn’t cosplay real people despite her saying that the V3 cast are fictional. Then I find the audition tapes to be very suspicious considering how Tsumugi said they are willingly happy to join the killing game despite pre-game Kaede saying she was kidnapped. Then in Shuichi’s and Kaede’s tape they strangely censor out their names despite them introducing themselves with the same name in the early game. People say V3’s story is finish but all it did is raise more questions whether or not the things that have been said in the game to be the truth or lie.

Personally I prefer they kept it ambiguous. Although a virtual reality ending is comforting and means that your favourite character didn’t really die, from a writing standpoint it doesn’t make sense. They already used the “virtual reality” trope, abusing it too much makes it way more predictable and cliche.

I respect how they made the ending open to interpretation buut a part of me wishes they could've added a "one last goodbye" sequence to end the franchise y'know? You guys should try checking out a Drv3 comic called the "After Ending to Drv3" which takes place after the Epilogue of the game^^ look it up here in KZbin if you haven't seen it yet. The way Kokichi can't see through Tsumugi even though he's a (Gary Stu) supernatural-level genius and how Tsumugi is basically a normal girl who survives (and almost wins the game) purely by luck and her lowest moments are mostly self sabotage. Kokichi is Junko if she wasn't a real villain and Tsumugi is Makoto if he used luck and hope for evil (Nagito isn't necessarily evil, just a bitch)

Danganronpa was always fictional in our world, V3 taking place in a world that also has them be fictional doesn't change anything about 1 and 2. I know this twist is controversial, but I think it's pretty brilliant. It's a good satire on franchise fatigue and the toxic parts of the fanbase. And at the very least they wrote it in such a way that it's conceivable that Tsmugi was just lying to make them fall to despair. The whole cospox thing is contradictory, if Kaede is a fictional character, than she should have been able to cosplay as her without changing colors.
