Dude, homeowners are less likely to use the builders that he's exposing. Do you really not get that? He's doing good work, but, uh doy, of course companies being exposed for shoddy work aren't going to say, "gee thank you, sir for pointing out how we tried to cut costs and take advantage of our buyer."

(Sorry if that's what you were saying too, I misunderstood then) Because It sounded like you were making it out to be wrong of Cy to hold shoddy building accountable - if the business owner was truly horrified to see how bad their builders were and honestly thought they were able to do a proper job the way things are, the business would THANK Cy for pointing out their reputation ruining builders so they could tighten things up on their end and keep their flow of customers because they fixed operations. I’ve watched several of his videos and I can’t recall him ever saying the companies names , he just shows the poor quality of the construction. As a home builder of 15+ years I know what to look for and how things should be done, the average home buyer usually doesn’t. His services are are greatly needed

You should see what happens 2 to 3 years after the home is sold. People have to put hundreds of thousands of dollars into them to fix what the builder won't do to begin with even though they're paid to do it

Here in NY we have inspectors who will allow faulty construction as it is being done only to cite the builder when they seek final approval.. and the rumors abound of.. you know.. about how much that final approval will (ahem..) cost.

I have worked in the industry for awhile and the one thing I have heard in common with most production builders is “it only has to last a year then it’s the homeowners problem”. They don’t care. I have met a few that do care and go above and beyond but the vast majority do not.
