I used to do 300k 2nd liberation dmg on my carlotta. When i got her 2nd sequence i was doing 550k dmg. I was baffled by the increase

great guide especially the spreedsheet is awesome one team i would add though is carlotta with sanhua and a support either Verina or Shorekeeper. Yes sanhua is not buffing carlotta with her outro skill but with moonlit and s6 i feel it is the best budget option besides the zhezhi team. I use this team as my second option if i want to play zhezhi somewhere else. Maybe the damage is weaker if compared to a team with lumi but carlotta needs way lower er and the rotation is faster and smoother in my opinion :)

Yup, Sanhua can work with her too for the fast cycling. Personally, if Sanhua though, I actually prefer Yangyang in this slot if not enough ER on Carlotta, as the Sanhua team usually cycles so fast that Carlotta is still on CD on ult for 2-3s. Yangyang is usually ~2-3s slower than Sanhua in the team, but because Carlotta casts her ult in the middle of her rotation, it allows Yangyang's full 5x4 Ult energy to be provided to her, decreasing ER reqs on Carlotta by ~20%. Carlotta teams honestly have a surprising amount of flexibility, and she has become my favorite DPS to play trying different teams.

Waiting for that team video! I dont have Zhezhi nor I want to pull for her so I use Lumi, the thing with Lumi is that her rotation is too slow and SK's liberation runs out before Carlotta can complete her rotation and that usually irks me, that and Carlotta udually lacking some energy for her liberation I only have 12 ER so clearly I need more but I'd love to see ideas for this. The one I've been thinking is using Verina with Lumi and going double intro on Lumi or just play normally as I wouldnt need to worry about the field for the crit buffs

Team video is out :) Personally, I would recommend HRover + Carlotta for budget comp. But if need to be Lumi, Yanyang can be used to double Intro Carlotta for 20 energy, since Carlotta ults mid-rotation instead of at her start. Less damage than Verina, but if the issue is moreso rotation lagging and dropping buffs, Yangyang could make the team smoother to play, assuming damage is enough.

This is a really good video. I have a question about the rotation, is it always better to save Skill 1 until after the liberation window, or is it okay to weave Skill 1 between Death Knells during the window? My reasoning is that it gets the skill on cooldown sooner, and it maybe saves a fraction of a second in the rotation by weaving between death knell downtime, though I'm not sure if there's a rotation that benefits from this. The catch is that you have to time the skill right as the shards appear, otherwise it cancels a death knell which is a dps loss. EDIT: Never mind, this doesn't work. I forgot about the moldable crystals. If you use skill during liberation you won't generate any crystals which delays the rotation if you don't have S1.

I pulled Carlotta, what do you think would be the best approach now: Should I gamble and try to pull for Zhezhi now (I can lose the 50/50) or keep saving to guarantee Jinhsi on her rerun? (I really want Jinhsi, but I wouldn't mind give up on her to build a premium team around Carlotta). With the second option should I team her with Changli or with Sanhua, until I get Jinhsi? (I have both Shorekeeper and Verina). Also is Yinlin a viable option for Carlotta?

Recommending lumi over Taoqi ? Lumi doesn’t give full buff to Carlotta liberation as her 10 seconds skill buff duration runs out before the final death knell shot. Saying that taoqi makes Carlotta clunky for being in melee range is also false. With the right rotation Carlotta puts distance between enemies with her ult anyway, even if using taoqi. Taoqi lacks damage but provides a better buff to Carlotta

I showcase the differences between Taoqi vs Lumi for each kind of scenario in the follow up video. I didn't say Taoqi makes Carlotta clunky for melee range. I said Carlotta teams make Taoqi clunky for being in melee range. It is possible to rotate Lumi so Carlotta retains full buffs as well, which I also show in the follow-up video. There's a reason why I said team rotations would be explained and pros and cons of each setup in a separate video, because it would be very long.

CRIT rate 4 cost on your 4/3/3/1/1 aswell as CRIT rate substats on your echoes . She has 10.6 CRIT rate ( when passive unlocked ) so you’ll need 60 CRIT rate. 32.6 when using CR 4 cost. Then 38% CR left which you’ll need to get from substats ( unless your using a CRIT rate weapon aswell )

Yup, I have them covered in the follow-up that just dropped :) The Taoqi situation is very awkward. The more aggressive and unpredictable, and mobile the enemy is, the worse she becomes. She wants either a punching bag you can bully, like Monkey boss, or an enemy with very obvious and paced attack windows so she can easily parry. The more in-your-face the enemy becomes, the more chip damage she takes, and the more you are pressed to parry properly or dodge. She is also melee range, meaning stuff like Inferno Rider, Heron, Fallacy can make her very annoying to use. If the enemy lets you do the Taoqi rotation properly, she is noticeably better than Lumi. If they don't, then Lumi is better, due to consistent rotations and ranged gameplay options. Lumi unfortunately has bad ER gen for the team, and shorter Outro buffs, as well as more complex rotations. So basically, on certain bosses, you'd use Taoqi, on others, you'd use Lumi. Preferably, avoid both and just bring Havoc Rover along if you can. The Changli iteration has similar or barely more damage than the Havoc Rover variant, but is much harder to play. Changli is mostly style points on Carlotta teams, and is slightly behind the Zhezhi standard, or Jinhsi dual DPS variants.

@@iDrKx I admit I didn't have a section for Yangyang because I only mentioned it in passing that her main usage is for battery'ing Carlotta. personally, I see her as the "better Sanhua" for Carlotta teams, as Sanhua has a habit of rotating Carlotta teams so fast that Carlotta's ult still has 2-3s CD while bringing nothing else except her damage. So Yangyang would still allow a fast enough rotation, while also granting 20 energy since Carlotta's ult is mid-rotation instead of early-rotation like most DPS. Otherwise, I don't see as much value specifically for Yangyang as I don't usually include Sequence specifics, but that is a very good point you brought up for extra DPS buffs.

I often wonder whether showcasing the optimal teams so much instead of prioritizing viability when the hardest part of the tower for most people is that they dont have enough characters. Burning a slot on shorekeeper or verina seems like a handicap for most new people brought to the game by 2.0. Everyone knows verina/shorekeeper work there because, well let's be honest, they work everywhere and are significantly more valuable paired with a weaker dps to balance the team out. Just throwing an idea out, even i that have played since the beginning truly dont care about the most optimal among optimal teams as there's virtually no ingame content suitable for such youtube content. I kinda just threw together youhu/zhezhi/charlotta and it became a very fun team that clears 1 side even if you have a blindfold on.

I have a question regarding the echo sets application. Last time I tested with the Electro set, you needed to cast both a Skill and a Heavy Attack to get both stacks of extra Electro DMG%, even if the resonator could quickly cast multiple Skills like Yin Lin, Calcharo and Xiangli Yao, it would only refresh the same stack instead of providing another. The way that Frosty Resolve is worded leads me to understand that it only has two stacks: one granted by casting Skill and another for casting Liberation. Does Carlotta's Liberation actually count as casting more than one Liberation? And if so, does Frosty Resolve account for that to give two stacks of the Echo Set damage bonus? Lastly, again if so, does that mean that Carlotta can effectively get a bonus to Liberation Damage% and two stacks of bonus Skill Damage% with the echo set alone? I can't test this myself before deciding to pull for her or not, but if all three questions are affirmative that would indeed be very absurd damage amplification...

The electro set is still as-stated, you are correct. The Frosty Resolve set has two sources of stacks. One from skill, and the other from Liberation. However, the Liberation stack has a max count of 2, making Carlotta the exclusive character (so far) that is capable of maxing out the Liberation stack source. The Skill source has it's own max stack of 1. TL;DR, so far on her, she is the only one that can get 70.5% out of the new set. Everyone else that uses it can only get 52.5%, from one stack of each.

Tbh, it really depends on the enemy. When the enemy cooperates, Taoqi is better, when they don't, Lumi is better. Problem is Lumi has big stat check reqs, and more complicated team rotations. There is a way to get Lumi to buff Carlotta's entire ult, but makes the team rotation more complicated again. As soon as the enemy spams constant DPS, or moves everywhere, Taoqi doesn't work well anymore. She wants something that lets you hit when you want, and has clear specific windows when it hits back. So stuff like Crownless, Monkey, she works well for. Stuff like Inferno Rider, Aix (when not stalled), Heron, she has issues with. In a perfect world, you'd pick the one to match the boss. In reality, I'd recommend to just play HRover dual DPS with Carlotta if you need to resort to either Lumi or Taoqi.

new player here. i got a question... so would it better to save up for jinhsi? in the video, which is totaly the best guide on YT, you said its 5% but as i understand it jinhsi is hit or miss with her crit, so carlotta is more consistent, right? in general single rotation dont matter much so in fact this 5% would not make or break in more diff. contents and the rotations are similar in terms of CD rouhgly 23s according to this and the jinhsi guide. so based on your opinion, which is better to pull for? i like both. and no i wont pull for both. but for carlotta i am on the fence cause she is the first of the patch and most of the time they are only baits and it looks like this is her peak?!... for jinhsi... her backloaded dmg looks a bit troublesome and i mean phoebe is coming and its said she gonna be same element and stronger not to mention, jinhsi will never have a dedicated char. folks i know there is a possiblity but kuro never gonna do a coord. attacker that buffs spectro while not being spectro. from what she benefits, like in case of ZZ, other gonna benefit too.

Honestly, the most I can say is both are good, and to pick the one you like more. On a full build, which based off your research I am of the impression you are interested in learning the main teams for each DPS in the long run, you should easily be able to out-DPS all the content in the game. These two DPS units have all the tools to specialize in boss-killing, and no boss really has a counterplay to them. For purely meta reasons, I find Carlotta teams are more flexible in playstyle with more teammate options, but both Carlotta and Jinhsi do not really have any piece of content that directly blocks them from being effective. Perhaps the one thing to consider is that Carlotta's damage is at the end of a team rotation (usually), meaning the payoff is dependent on making it to Carlotta's ult in time, whereas while Jinhsi does her DPS in singular big hits, she rotates fast and hits twice per full team rotation, distributing her team damage frequency a little more consistently. This only really matters in time attack scenarios where your DPS is somewhat lacking and you end up trying to clear on a half-rotation. This is where Jinhsi would prevail, whereas Carlotta would still be setting up.

So in content like pincer jinhsi would be better as she rotates faster, right? btw. i saw some quickswap jinhsi teams... but could she even fill her bar with another dps? for now there is no coord. atk. healer aside of verina, which is spectro. in that term carlotta seems to only have free potential up in quickswap, in which case its not really her but the 2nd dps that is the deciding factor. btw. can the 2nd dps utilize her debuff? on the other hand jinhsi needs to w8 for a coord. atk healer. but in theory. if i have 2 coord. atk for jinhsi, say ZZ and coord. atk healer, can jinhsi utilize the shortened time to fill her bar?

​@warriors806 about Jinhsi forte. With Verina alone, she typically only fills 40-70% of her bar on a "good" rotation. leaning closer towards the 40. Zhezhi alone typically fills 75-95% of Jinhsi's bar alone, primarily because of also being an opposite element. With Verina and Zhezhi both on Jinhsi's team, you typically fill 80-100% of the bar, leaning closer to 100, based on how consistently you can trigger co-ord activation (which is why having enough ER is super important for Verina on Jinhsi teams, since that is her source of co-ord [re: ult]). Keep in mind that element hit, and co-ord element hit track separately for Incandescence stack adding, and thus have separate cooldowns. in teams where Verina is the only co-ord for jinhsi, the 3rd unit must either bring co-ord, or enough dps to the table to not warrant being a co-ord. Jinhsi Carlotta actually works due to sheer damage, and I have that highlighted in a section dedicated to that team in my Carlotta Team video that just dropped: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpKpaZqIaJeAadksi=it05CFmkgMOJ91Em&t=1243 I don't think we are getting another co-ord unit for a bit, but it'd be cool if we did.

@@AznvasionsII nice... i have been w8 for that video. thanks for uploading. need to see before pulling her and w8 for footage of the beta server^^ doesnt phoebe look strong and easy to build + abilites to sup other spectro yeah i guess we wouldnt get one too but for my own understanding in case i wanna pull her and just in case as we got a new unit for every new set in 2.0. so in this regard we still could get one. i understand the theory of verina thats why i asked if jinhsi can utilize a faster filling of her bar. in case we got a coord. healer other than verina due to some mircale. with her outro both CDs are set to 1s, so 3 every sec, so 13s until the bar is full. can she even use her res skill every 13s? wouldnt it make sense to ignore her intro as filling the concerto would take longer than her basic attack string?

@@warriors806 she actually can use it every 13s, as in the carlotta jinhsi team, it is actually possible for her skill to be on a 0.5-1s cooldown when playing well enough. On the ideal Verina + Yinlin/Zhezhi current Jinhsi teams, Yinlin will sometimes result in a 2s CD still on Jinhsi, Zhezhi often leaves her with 0.5s, and Verina on clean rotations can easily leave her with 1-2s on skill CD still as well. The Carlotta Jinhsi team rotates in 27s currently, but the typical Jinhsi teams are even faster than that, and typically rotate every 24-25s, which was what leads to random moments where Jinhsi skill CD still has ~1s when you want to use it. Note that in these team rotations I quote, Jinhsi does both her top and half rotations as well, meaning she's casting her full skill chain twice in that 24-27s window. It's also notable, because Verina ult is on a 25s CD, and going too fast on optimal Jinhsi teams will force you to stall out and wait for Verina's ult CD to come back. typically it can have 0.5-2s CD on it depending on how the fight goes. Generally, a Jinhsi team will go: support -> subDPS -> Jinhsi for the first rotation. Then after that, it goes support -> jinhsi -> subDPS -> jinhsi for every full rotation afterwards. That 4x swap team only takes about ~25s to do on average.

I dont have Zhezhi For a Sequence 2 Carlotta Should I go for Sequence 3 or Zhezhi s0?

Sequence 3 should be worth slightly more damage as a whole vs Zhezhi if you were using Lumi/Taoqi before. However, Zhezhi is also a flexible unit usable in more comps and good herself. Comes down to if you want more vertical or more horizontal invest. Also note that Carlotta can be played as a dual carry with XLY, Changli, Jinhsi and Havoc Rover quite well.

you should always prioritize getting a new character rather than sequences, and sequence 2 is already a really good stopping point for Carlotta

Nah, Carlotta's mechanics is still more like Changli than Jinhsi. Carlotta builds her own molding crystal and fills her own forte. Jinhsi's teammates build most of her forte.
