@@Damdim527 Thanks bro❤, as far as placements is concerned, it depends upon your target like if you are targeting higher packages like 15-20+ LPA then DSA and system design is mostly asked but if you are looking for average packages then mostly development based questions are asked. (CS fundamentals i.e. DMBS, OS, OOPS, etc are common in both).

7:38:25 Checkpoint recovery is a method used in computer systems and databases to ensure data consistency and recoverability in the event of a failure or crash. It involves creating checkpoints or savepoints at various stages of a system's operation, allowing the system to resume from a known good state if something goes wrong. Checkpoint recovery is commonly used in databases and distributed systems to minimize data loss and maintain system integrity.

In the context of databases and DBMS (Database Management Systems), "ACID" and "BASE" are two sets of properties that describe different transaction management models. These models determine how transactions are handled in a database, ensuring data integrity and consistency. Let's explore each model: ACID Properties: ACID is an acronym that stands for Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation, and Durability. These properties ensure that database transactions are processed reliably and securely: a. Atomicity: This property ensures that a transaction is treated as a single, indivisible unit of work. Either all the operations within a transaction are executed successfully, or none of them are. If any part of the transaction fails, the entire transaction is rolled back to its initial state. b. Consistency: After a transaction is successfully completed, the database is left in a consistent state. This means that the integrity constraints, rules, and relationships defined in the database schema are maintained, and the data remains valid. c. Isolation: This property ensures that each transaction is executed in isolation from other transactions. Transactions do not interfere with each other, even if they are executed concurrently. Isolation prevents issues like dirty reads, non-repeatable reads, and phantom reads. d. Durability: Once a transaction is committed successfully, its changes are permanent and will survive any subsequent failures, such as system crashes or power outages. The changes made by the transaction become a permanent part of the database. BASE Properties: BASE is an acronym that stands for Basically Available, Soft state, and Eventually consistent. BASE properties offer a more relaxed approach to transaction management, trading off some level of consistency for increased availability and scalability: a. Basically Available: The system is designed to remain available and responsive, even in the face of partial failures or network partitions. It may not guarantee immediate consistency at all times but strives to provide basic functionality to users. b. Soft state: Unlike ACID transactions that enforce immediate consistency, BASE allows temporary inconsistencies within the system. Data may be in a partially updated state, and different replicas may have divergent values for a brief period. c. Eventually consistent: BASE systems aim to achieve eventual consistency over time. This means that, given enough time and without further updates, all replicas of data will eventually converge to a consistent state. BASE properties are commonly associated with NoSQL databases, which are often used in distributed and large-scale applications where high availability and partition tolerance are critical, such as social media platforms and big data applications. In summary, ACID properties prioritize strict consistency and reliability in database transactions, while BASE properties prioritize availability and scalability, accepting some level of temporary inconsistency. The choice between ACID and BASE depends on the specific requirements of the application and the trade-offs that can be made.

Sir, not at all joking, but you teach in such a way, with such examples that it absolutely doesn't feel like studying at all, it rather feels like I'm watching a documentary and the next thing I know I finish DBMS haste khelte

A CDN makes copies of content on servers distributed across geographical locations. This setup increases data availability and reduces latency, ensuring faster access for users by serving content from the nearest server
@ravipaliwal4041
@ravipaliwal4041 3 ай бұрын
11:16:29 Homework Basically Available: This principle ensures that the database appears to be operational and available to users at all times. It prioritizes availability over consistency, which means that it may serve stale or inexact data rather than denying access to the database. Soft State: The state of the database may change over time, even without input. This is due to the BASE model's relaxed consistency, which allows for a period of inconsistency where the data is not guaranteed to be up-to-date across all nodes in the system. Eventually Consistent: BASE model databases eventually reach a consistent state. While immediate consistency is not guaranteed, the system will become consistent over time, ensuring that all updates are eventually propagated to all nodes.

ACID vs BASE property basic difference - ACID properties are often associated with traditional relational databases and transactions that require strict data integrity. BASE properties are more characteristic of distributed and NoSQL databases, where high availability and scalability are prioritized over strong consistency
