Damn that’s so sad about the note on your car😮 I’ll make sure to change my plates right away, that’s a great tip these days for moving most places I think. Also this video was amazing you hit on soooo many points that I’m wondering as someone moving there! I already have a realtor so I can’t offer more than a like and subscribe but thanks for the content, it’s appreciated!!

Goodfoot! I've been here for 12 years. It's definitely gotten more sketchy depending on where you are. And the costs have gone up significantly. But i stay because of the amazing vegan food, safe bikeable roadways, and clise proximity to abundant nature. You dont even have to leave the city to get into a large, fern filled, peaceful forest: Forest Park.

Great video bro! Question: to counter that steep income tax, theoretically someone could live in Vancouver and shop in Portland right lol? Best of both worlds? No state income tax in WA/No sales tax in OR. Cheers!

Hey right on, thanks for the kind words! Yes, I do believe some people do this. Though I'm not sure how realistic it is to avoid sales tax entirely if you're living on the WA side. Doesn't seem realistic to drive into Portland every single time you wanna go grocery shopping or go out for a bite to eat, but if you live in WA it certainly could be worth it to drive over into OR to make the occasional Costco trip, or making big electronics purchases like at Best Buy or Apple Store, things like that. Thanks for watching!

Hi, I was in Portland in 2016 for 2 months. I loved this city. Problems in this city are those are common in the US. So if Fed. Government can solve it Portland would be one of bests

I have to laugh! Only 36 inches of rain! We’re lucky in Phoenix to get 7 inches a year. Nice video, I’m thinking of Portland, this has been quite comprehensive.

We're planning to move to the US from Victoria by March next year, and Seattle and Portland are my top choices, so that we won't feel a huge change. How long does it take for people to quality for house loans? Can we buy a house within 1st six months of living in the city? Ideally, we'd like to buy as soon as possible.

Hey there! Very good question. That depends on a lot of factors such as how quickly you can establish employment, what your income is, how much liquid funds you have available, what other debts you have, what price range you want to buy in, and other factors. Additionally, in order to qualify for most financing here you need to establish some credit within the US which can take some time. How long? I think it depends on some of the factors I mentioned above. All that said, I do believe there are Canadian banks that provide financing in the US. Before you forget, just shoot me a quick email and reference this comment. I'd be happy to chat more with you this coming week and dig a little deeper on how to make this work.
