I lost faith in the pet system, and still don't understand how they work. I lost a lot of good pets. Final draw is when I converted a 4 star blue cat thinking I could get a better upgraded. No I downgraded to a 1 star varoog or something. With lesser stat. Not worth it to me sucks.

If you do not use conversion stones, u will likely loose the rare skills of the best pet in the conversion. That’s what happened to your rare pet with 4 rare skills. Blizzard wants us to spend money buying plats to fund conversion stones.

I sell everything. Now using a pet I don’t like at all and it’s a yellow cat with 2 active traits. Only using it because it lets me max price it only at 8k for some reason 😢 Sold another cat previous week for 16k plat and it was a lot worse than curent but for some reason I can’t get current one to sell for higher price

Also, we figured out why the new varog was also blue after exchanging attributes. Much like how an undercover legendary pet needs a legendary skill as well before it gets the orange color to its name and the final cosmetic appearance, the same can be said about this blue pet with yellow quality attributes. It's an undercover rare, just doesn't have any rare skills on it to give it that appearance.

Erm the melding actually can guarantee away to get traits active guys I'd prefer to meld over convert u keep the traits like salvage etc.

@puddinManion traits are only active if the pet they're on has a stat at 120+. Yes, you can meld with another rare pet to achieve this, but that implies you're using a pet that already had active traits.

Melding doesn’t change or affect the traits at all. Melding only increases the number of rare skills. And you MUST meld same type of pet with the SAME number of yellow or rare skills to get one more rare skills for the pet you are keeping. If you meld a pet with 2 rare skills with another with one rare skill, you will end up with a pet with one rare skill.

@papichoku2442 you can meld pets of different race still too. The only bonus of doing 2 of the same race is that you could increase some of the stats by +1. But yes, must have the same number of rare skills on each for the result to gain 1.

18:07 Why is the visual of the rare varog is gone after attribute swap? To unlock rare visual, its necessary to have at least one rare skill at the target pet. In your case, after attribute swap, you need to meld and add a rare skill.

There's a very small chance for your blue/yellow pets to have higher grade attributes, meaning blue pet will have 120+ and active yellow traits, and yellow pet will have 170+ and active yellow / legendary traits.. You use yellow ones 170+ (hidden legendary) to upgrade/evolve another pet to 3 form (legendary).

Correct. A blue pet with a 120+ stat means it's a "hidden rare". It would be yellow if it had a yellow passive skill. But yes, the traits can technically be active even on a blue pet in this scenario.

Conversion is the greatest plats sink if you buy pets from the market to convert. I would rather save plats and buy a good pet from the market. Unlike legendary gems, the beneficial effects of pets is not that clear, so we don’t really feel the investment in pet is worth as much as legendary gems.

I have legendary orange pet with 1 legendary skill and 1 leg trait. If i convert it with 2 other abberant pets with all blue skills and use stones will it 100% guarantee i'll receive legendary pet?

Yes you will still get a legendary pet

Yes, using conversion stones preserves the quality of the pet and the skills of the 1 familiar with the highest skill rating of the 3. Have to be careful of that last bit. If your legendary pet only has 1 leg skill and 5 blues, and you convert with some other blue aberrant that has maybe 1 leg skill, 1 yellow skill, and 4 blues... the blue aberrant will be considered the "best" pet here. The stones would then only guarantee that the result has to be of blue quality or better with 1 leg and 1 rare at minimum. Need to make sure your lego pet also has the best skills of the 3 in the conversion to also preserve the lego stats.

Not sure if anyone said it, but you can have rare attributes on a blue pet and will stay blue until you have one rare skills. The same way that a Lego pet can be yellow until it has one Lego skill. Same thing.

How do they not talk about the stats? The traits become active based on the matching stat. It has nothing to do with rarity though rare familiars tend to have higher stat lines. Most traits require a min 120 in some matching stat for it to become active.

THANKYOU FOR TRYING Echo! Thankyou. Blizzard HAS TO FIX THIS MESS. Worst update yet and the closest I've been to quitting the game. Expectations lost. Utterly confusing mess. Totally unintuitive. Garbage garbage familiar system. Atleast with legendary gems and resonance I can see someone who has 7000 or 8000 resonance and go good for them they spent a lot of money. Here I have no idea. Half the people you talk to say "it's easy" and the other half say "I have no idea it's a confusing mess need a degree to understand it don't bother just sell them for platinum". I'm so gutted. I see no way to upgrading pets and no way to achieving those three traits that are so useful the salvager, armory etc. NO path forward means WHY BOTHER playing? Rant over. :( Did you figure out if that exchange attribute worked or was it as inconsistent as it looked?

Exchange only takes stats from second pet put in. Nothing else.

It's a swap. Nothing more, nothing less. The 4 attributes from Pet1 go to Pet2, and vice versa.

If you want a pet to change form with exchange, you need to make sure the pet receiving the attributes is an aberrant pet. Exchanging attribute with another normal pet won’t change the form.

Traits are different from skills. They all provide some bonus to your character. Not the pets. You get the bonus of any and all traits between the 1 active familiar as well as the 4 bonded familiars assuming they're all active.

You can have rare/yellow pets that technically work better than any Legos of the same race. I have a yellow duskprowler I swapped over from a 6 rare skill blue Varog that works better than 90% of the savior Duskprowlers you'll see.

Also, if you're melding 2 pets, one has 1 rare skill, the other has 3, when you meld them do NOT let the game auto select skills for you. You can pick which pet you want to keep out of the meld process and manually pick what skills they'll have. Also, if you are combining the pets like I mentioned above, it tells you in the meld screen that you will gain +2 (for my example) rare skills. It's an easier way to gain rare skills on your desired pet without risking losing them. MELDING IS NOT BAD.

I got 5 star rare pet and cost on market about 128,000 which equals 2*BSJ … I am f2p who doesn’t have BSJ yet. My thought was selling pet then buy BSJ but result battles ground together with my pet, seems got very good result. I almost win higher reso ( I’m only 790 reso vs ~1500/2000 reso). So now I not sure should I sell my pet or not ?

I flipped the class a few times, but I was not able to change the gender when flipping back to my barbarian.
