Each fusion takes fundamental elements of both the base and additional monster in different ways. For example, the fusion of Bansheep + Candevil is different than Candevil's fusion with Bansheep!

I considered this, wasn't sure it's a good idea! Since there are like 140 beasts, I had no idea if it would be overwhelming? Or if I should group things up. I did order the cassette beasts by order, but would be happy to do it over the weekend if people think it's a good idea

How did you get all of these entries??

First I got over a 1000 fusions by upgrading all fusion-meter things, collecting all basic bestiary, and rapidly doing 2 battles for fusion meter, fuse, swap tapes, repeat. Then I got tired, activated debug console and used the seen_random_fusions command HUNDREDS of times until it filled my fusion bestiary XD

Yeah I'm not a fan of most Artillerex ones. I guess there are limitations with procedural generation, they're not manually crafted and s ome will look... odd

@pinkgeerough Yes, NONE of them. I couldn't find even ONE I liked. Every single one of them suffers from lack of expression, and there aren't any real chonk designs, which tend to be my favorites, nor are there any good beefy or big monsters, in general. So many of them are just cobbled together objects, and even the animals, again, are so devoid of expression. But what really ruins them for me is the simple fact that you don't even play as THEM. Instead, you play as some uninspired and unlikable human-sue buttholes (and a dog, eventually) who merely SHAPESHIFT into them.

That's fair. I know someone who doesn't care for the designs. It's very different than the typical animal-based design. I personally like the concept, it really works well with the theme of the game. Fountess my favourite design, but I get that most of them are a hit or miss.

@@pinkgeerough I'm honestly mixed about the whole "figments of imagination" thing. Whie I don't like the designs, I wouldn't call them uncreative, per se. However, the "Shapeshifting human" twist? In a day and age where virtually every fricken hero needs to be, in one way or another, be a human? THAT is uncreative. Honestly, that's the charm of mon-tamers for me. The monsters get to be the stars just as much as the protagonist does, and its their lives that matter in the grand scheme of things as are humans. Cassette Beasts taks that away with the fact that every true non-human outside Barkley is an antagonist. The vast majority of modern games have a "Humans=good/everything else=bad" complex, so to see a mon-tamer succumb to this, when it's a genre good at avoiding this cliche, is a big reason why I have no interest in the game.

I think it depends how you perceive it. For me its akin to Digimon World, where the 'evil digimon' usually are the ones controlled by the evil people, and monster/digimon are only an extension of the human world. Not sure if you finished the game, but for me Cassette Beasts follows that same thing where the evilness comes from humans too. Its very philosophical too, I like it
