I try to send all my infantry out, then backfill with lancer, leaving marksmen at home I still get 0 kills, so those reinforcing me get all the points from the kills .

You have to create a farm alliance and send some people there to avoid more defender in same city. Everyone in main alliance should have extra farm city which will be used to make farm alliance

When you raise the difficulty of Crazy Joe, more powerful bandits come. To defeat those bandits, you need to make higher damage. When you make higher damage you make more score that means more reward

Swap troops with members. Get a member that has t9 troops to defend you ! So example you could swap 70 k t9 troops for like 90 or 100 of your t8 troops.

T8 troops will not be good for the empty city strategy. Keep your 100k troops in your city and divide rest 150k troops in 3 parts, each part will contain 50k troops, send those 3 parts to defend other. Take reinforcement from atleast 3 players of total 300k

There is not any particular number of troops, you have to understand with trials. Because your city defense depends on not only troops but also chief gear, hero skill and other things. To keep on safe side, you should have minimum 110k troops on each queue of minimum T9

i got burned twice at wave 19 and put out the fire since it is only one HQ wave left, but i was still told by others to not put it out before the whole event was over. and they said i lost all my points but i didnt? does it matter when you put out your fire?

It does not matter if you put out fire. But you should not put out fire, the reason this, if you put out fire, your ally will think you are not burnt yet and they will send you defense which will be wasted

You have to send all troops in equal number because infantry, lancer and marksman are counter to each other. If you send 30k army, there should be 10k infantry, 10k lancer, 10 marksman

You should not heal troops if you are using zero defense strategy. If you heal your troops, they will come your city and start fighting Joe and your defender will not get much point
