I would like to share that the pointer and thumb position did something important after a long time. There seemed to be energy looping from my thumb to forefinger, as if that energy normally leaves the tips. As my body was falling asleep the mudra kept my mind awake. I guess I’m reiterating some of the info here but it lead to one of the most powerful experiences I’ve ever had.

Thank you for your feedback. We will keep these suggestions in mind! About your question, are you referring about the Gyana Mudra? When the sun is up, we use Chin Mudra to receive the energy of the sun. When the sun has set, we use Gyana Mudra with palms facing downward as we keep the sun’s energy we have received during the day. This mudra has the same benefits as China Mudra such as helping to gain focus and internal awareness. Hope this clarifies your doubt.

What are the benefits of vayu mudra? Is it also for releasing the excess air element?
@Arhanta_Yoga

We use it to vastly decrease the Vayu air element. If the air element dominates the body, for example too much stress or anxiety issues, skin infections, or much air in the intestine, you use this mudra.

Why would one make a preference of solar vs lunar prana? They are both equally important as they represent both our feminine and our masculine sides. People wake up in the middle of the night for a good reason - to receive lunar energy. Balance is everything. Love and Peace!

@@Arhanta_Yoga IT looks very good. Is there also a Prize or an obligation to teach? And would it be a teaching under your Name, so people would be confident? If you have time please listen my composition on a very beautiful prayer of Yogansnda. Also I composed on beloved Padmasambhava. Once an Indian has heard it. He was shocked as anyone in the West. He sayd: but this has nothing anymore to Do with this World....In fact it has very much to Do with Our World, with the mostly suppressed, ignored Part of life. But for me it is very different. I just feel happy of truth.

@Arhanta_Yoga

This is referred to as the ‘concentration mudra.’ The fire element is connected via the thumbs and the other elements are at rest. This mudra engages the intellect and calms the mind. Dhyana Mudra is a renowned hand mudra for meditation, with many iconic pictures and statues of Lord Buddha in Dhyana Mudra. Very good video on mudras.. why we don't want take moon energy ?
@Arhanta_Yoga
@Arhanta_Yoga Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback! Let us explain a little about sun and moon energy. Mudras function as a unifying force to bring together and balance the body through the hands. As we have two hands, so too do we have two sides of the body; solar energy on the right side and lunar energy on the left side. The Gyana Mudra, for example, connects the right solar prana via the Pingala Nadi to the left lunar energy via the Ida Nadi. Mudras work to singularly stimulate solar or lunar energy too. Hope that clears things up for you!

In Dayan Mudra you said Fire is connected to whole other element resting . what does it mean sir to fire is connected what secret to fire is connected ?
@Arhanta_Yoga
@Arhanta_Yoga Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your interest in our video and content! Ayurveda explains the body as being made up of five elements; fire, air, space, earth and water. A healthy body has a balance of these elements. Conversely, a dominating or weakening element would cause an imbalance in the body and have a negative impact on one’s health. This would express as illness or disease. There are five elements and five fingers. Each finger represents an according element. In yoga philosophy, it is said that through each finger, runs the prana for each element. By manipulating the pranas we can increase or decrease the prana to a specific part of the body. That is why a mudra is also referred to as a seal. We are sealing or locking the pranas for a specific purpose. When a specific mudra is used for a specific purpose, it can help restore the balance of the five elements of the body using prana. You can keep reading about mudras in our blog! www.arhantayoga.org/blog/complete-guide-to-mudras-and-benefits/

which Mudras for Concentration is best and why ? Gyan Mudra or Dayan Mudra
@Arhanta_Yoga
@Arhanta_Yoga Жыл бұрын
Good question! In this mudra we bring the thumb fire element and index air element together to burn the air and decrease vata (air) energy, helping us to concentrate better. To explain further, too much of the air element disturbs the mind. Decreasing the air element using the fire element helps to decreases mental disturbances.

NOT Breathing Exercises == YES PRANAYAMA!

Breathing exercises are necessary as preparation for Pranayama. Mudras can be used in both preparatory breathing exercises and Pranayama.

Please I need an answer. I had a meditation yesterday which was very intense. The outside was inside, the inside was outside. Somehow, intuitively my hands started to move in a strange way, like I was stroking the "air" or space. The position of my 2 hands were like how the saints or Jesus are depicted on some paintings and sculptures. I felt I'm bending reality. It seemed magic. What is this??

Yes, there is a difference (2:30) This is the same for both right and left-hand dominant.

Hello! We practice mudras in meditation, breathing exercises and some asanas. When we want to improve concentration and inner awareness we can practice Gyan Mudra or Dhyan Mudra. We can bring our attention to the breath or to a meditation object

There is no need to be double jointed to perform mudras. You may learn more about how to perform each mudra in our blog (link in the description).
