I want to thank you. Couple of weeks ago I painted a hood, bumper and blended the fenders on a 2017 civic I won at auction. I always would send the cars to a good family friend to be painted after I was done repairing and replacing parts. I was always nervous I’d mess up. But watching your videos helped tremendously. The hardest part is setting up the gun right. But I guess the more you paint and can see what settings work best

I appreciate your real world well explained tutorials ... You have really given me a much greater confidence level to prepare for attempting to paint my first car. Most other videos I watch are from professional painters providing tips from within their professional spray booths and using their full respirators and gear. It's nice to see how it's done in a garage environment like most of us amateurs would be using when spraying our cars.

As a former autobody tech, nice job man! People wonder why it cost so much to repair such a "small" dent. They don't realize the time put in and materials used to prep and paint even a repair as small as this.

Nice! Ive had minimal luck with pulling something that close to a body line. I've had great success at conveniently forgetting where I put my slide-hammer, mixing a decent amount of filler and voilà!😬

🤣I may take it a bit far but your still good with filling up to a 1/4 inch which is a good bit of filler.

Would you recommend the gun you used for doing a whole regular cab truck at once? Or in parts? I have the same one but not sure in case of air fluctuation
@GarageNoise
@GarageNoise Жыл бұрын
Depends on your compressor and how much air it produces. The gun will have no problem painting a complete job. It might be slightly slower than a conventional gun ,but the difference is minor.

I have a similar repair that needs to be performed and they want to paint both doors… is it possible to just paint the one door hoping it matches?!
@GarageNoise
@GarageNoise Жыл бұрын
Most of the time the blending process is necessary and you may have to paint both doors this dent was right in the middle so I could keep i confined to one door.

I'm sure it's been asked before, but what filters do you use on your mask and how often do you change them? I have painted a few fenders in my garage and used A2P2 filters on my mask but found out about isocyanates and learned that they can come through the filters when saturated. How do you deal with this?

One piece of advice, don't remove the letters, just cover them and when you go to apply the transparent remove the cover, that makes them look shiny

Great video! Question: Once you finished spraying the base coat before clear did you sand the whole door with 600/800 grit wet? Than you cleared it? Thanks
@GarageNoise
@GarageNoise 4 ай бұрын
No you don't want to do that. I will however denib dust in the basecoat before I clear but you must apply more basecoat before clear.

Yes, but I can't do PDR to perfection. I could have my PDR guy do it but if it's not perfect the it's would need to be painted anyway.
