It really takes some talent to take a daunting concept and break it down into bite sized pieces instead of jumping straight into the complicated stuff. Thanks for these tutorials, they're great.

Thank you so much for this. I've been avoiding using robotics for such a long time because I wasn't sure how it all worked. This is a game changer for me! Very good tutorial.

Thank You man, I’ve been searching about how to use the Kal controller and how to make a simple landing leg system because the rocket boosters I would want to land couldn’t land because of the small landing gear that the game had as default, Really saved Me especially since Nobody really makes robotics tutorials that really makes sense 👌👌👌

Great tutorial, you said if you do animation you would be familiar with this, I would add that I'm a video editor for 25 years and have been using Maya 3D casually since like early 2000 something so this is also like working in an advanced video or audio editing program with a multi-layer time line, they call it robotics but its really an editor, I have yet to do the KAL-1000 as I'm still in my early stages of KSP learning but I'm looking forward to when I feel I need to start using this toy for more advanced kerbel fun, it will open up a whole new game play aspect for most folks.

Hi! This is a great tutorial series! I had no idea how to work KALs before and now I've got a working CH-47 replica that flys stable and level thanks to two KALs working the rotor angles and a hinge to angle the front motor. Funny enough though, these more complicated KALs didn't give me any trouble, but I'm having issues with an on/off set of KAL fields. I'd like to have 7 spotlights on the rear rotor mount that light up and turn off in sequence with the rotor angle as a way to indicate what the rotor pitch is. I've tried using 'toggle lights' and two fields per light for 'turn light on' and 'turn light off', I've done this as additional fields in the KAL that controls rotor angle, and as it's own KAL controller on the same group as the rotor angle KAL, the U/D translation group, and I also tried removing my Indicator lights from the main light control group but they still never light up at all. I can manually turn the lights on, and the Rotor Angle KAL still works fine. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Anyone have any ideas? Seems like it should be simpler than balancing flight controls for a helicopter, I must be missing something little.

Well that was definitely helpful for getting me started, thanks Urban Venture! Although I have one question - why did you decouple after the main SRB burn after 105 seconds and not 58 seconds? I'm just confused at that part, because I thought both SRBs fired at the same time.
@rowbotia2 жыл бұрын
the first stage showed how long it was going to go until the side boosters fell because there was a stage after with the main SRB still there, so it splits the time across the 2 stages he added them together and bam that's your time

I can't figure this out either. He didn't even have SAS on before he toggled the nav ball. I think you just pitched it a little bit right off of the Launch pad and then toggled SAS.

why did you cut out the part on how to gimbal using kal
@urban_venture5 ай бұрын
@@KohniHart Hey, I don’t believe anything has been removed from these tutorials if that’s what you’re asking? But part 2 should give you all the basics for how to control robotics, which you could then use to make a custom gimbal :)

The cow controllers are really not that terrifying sit down and play with it.... okay stop laughing.... but seriously. Anybody on Console looking at this don't get your hopes up it's not going to work the exact same unfortunately we are a few upgrades behind them and hopefully doubtful but hopefully will be all caught up and then the rest of this video will actually pertain to us console users
