You definitely can't profit off of pokemon cards at all now a days, unless you pull chase cards. Which are always secret rares or ultra rares with like 1/600 pull rates. It's pretty hard to profit off pokemon compared to about 8 years ago. I'd just buy vintage booster packs back then and they weren't that expensive. Base set booster packs were like $50 - $70 same with all the neo sets. Fossils and jungle were only like $30. And I bought an entire box of team rocket for $100 back then. It was so easy to profit back then. Now all these vintage packs have appreciated literally 10s of times. Neo Genesis booster packs cost $1000 now... sheeesssh. I bought a 1st edition booster pack for $70 back then and pulled the lugia off it and profited so hard. Now you can't profit period. Even if you pulled a mint lugia from neo genesis, you'd be down $500 after on one pack.
