Chapter- 12 Banking Regional rural Bank (RRB) - RRB are Indian scheduled commercial banks operating at regional levels in different states of India. Objective- provide help to weaker and to mobilize rural saving. Cooperative Banks - A cooperative Bank is a financial entity which belongs to its members. They are run by an elected managing committee. They work on no profit no loss basis. It has three tiers structures 1. Primary credit societies 2. District Central cooperative banks 3. State cooperative Bank The banking regulation act 1949 1. To licence banks 2. To supervise the appointment of the boards. 3. To regulate the operations 4. To lay down instruction for audits. Small finance Bank- It can provide basic banking service of acceptance of deposits and lending. Payments banks - unlike traditional banks it cannot issue loans and credit cards. Payment banks cannot accept non resident Indian deposits. MUDRA Bank (Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency Bank) is a public sector financial institution in India it is launched in 2015.
