Very helpful! Great video and clear instructions. With a tractor like this I wanted to make sure that it was serviced properly and thought certified service might be the best route. Your instructions removed my hesitation to do the service myself and saved me a bunch of bucks for labor and the hassle of hauling my tractor to and from the nearest Kubota dealer. Thanks

Just found this video and subscribed....let me say this my man, this video is hands down the best tutorial I have ever seen about anything on YT. Its not pompous or condescending for guys like me, who are not so smart in this particular area. You video is shot PERFECTLY. No BS, no useless self-promotion, perfect angels, great focus, witty comments, inclusive of all things to consider and comprehensive. I didn't have to FF once. VERY VERY WELL DONE!!! Thank you again for taking the time to put this together and put it up here, it will be my go to every single time I need to do maintenance. My only criticism is that you make me feel inadequate, and by that I mean...DAAAMMMM dude, that machine is so clean, you can eat off of it....I take pride in my stuff and keep things clean, well kept and serviced too, but that machine looks like it just rolled off the show room floor for 400hrs. WELL DONE, you've inspired me to up my game and do the same!

Those bolts on the front diff out by the wheels are to bleed the air out of the diff as you fill it. Remove both bolts and fill the diff where you are filling it and it will fill up quickly.

Your video was 100 times better than the manual! I'm doing a 400 hour service on a BX23S. The manual mentions "oil filter", singular, in all references! The manual has two pictures of filters in different locations. I just assumed it was an alternate location. I wished I watched your video before I started the process. All my local Kubota dealers are closed and I had to get my filters and fluids from local auto parts stores based on part numbers I got from the internet. Thanks again!

Loosening the fuel bleed screw isnt necessary when changing a filter. The manual states that turning on the ignition to run the fuel pump for 30 seconds then turning off, repeat a couple times will bleed the air from the ststem. Run engine from low rom to high rpm back and forth until it idles smoothly. This can be handy if you need to change the filter out away from garage and not removeing the engine covers.
@Trialnerror

Takes literally 30 seconds and lets the air escape before it hits the extremely expensive high pressure pump. Worth the 30 seconds IMO.

Great video, thanks. Just getting ready to do my 50 hour service on my BX2680. I think I have everything I need to do the service, but I may need to pickup another jug of UDT-2 fluid as I only have 1 jug of it and I believe the hydraulic system requires about 3 gallons. I'll stick to the UDT-2 in the front axle for now as well while its under warranty. Not sure if the gear oil would be too thick in cold conditions so I'll stick with the thinner oil for that reason.

When you clamp off the line coming from the fuel tank, do you have your vice grips right on the tube, or did you just close the clip all the way ? My manual says to drain the coolant, run some cleaner through, drain and replace with coolant. I can't see how to get to the drain plug or the lower hose. Did you run cleaner through the cooling system? Is it really important to do that?

Trial N' Error is that one of those little wrenches you can turn way down? I have a whole range of them and anything but the smallest couple I’d be afraid of destroying the threads or knocking the little spot welded insert on the inside of the pan loose.. (never saw the inside of this pan but numerous automotive pans I’ve ever seen are made like this).. personally I like to at least “feel” with a hand tool if I’m getting it tight enough without overtightening. Overall a great video, best one I’ve found on this subject and I don’t want to sound like it’s not appreciated. Especially the hydro fluid change. Thank you for putting it up!

Very well done. I’ve heard others also say to use 90W gear oil instead of UD2 in the front because of seal issues. I will do the same at 50 hours. Nice to see bleeding the air from the fuel supply. Unless I missed it, do you open the low point drains on both sides of the HST along with the main drain? I hear you can get more fluid out that way. Also like the inner air filter element. Good idea. Awesome video, thanks. I am strongly considering a Kubota BX1880 and have a couple of quick questions: I could not see it very well but you mentioned a skid plate on the hst and wanted to know if it's substantial enough to guard the hydro filter & fan? I've seen other brands that have had issues with limbs, etc. actually breaking the filters off which resulted in the mfg. (Massey GC for one) to design a better guard. Also wanted to know where you got the rear tire lifts to raise the rear which aided in the hydro servicing. Thanks in advance.

this is probably the finest video I have found for servicing the BX. Thank you for taking the time to make it sir! As a side note, I was so worried about the fan, filter and other important sundry parts being damaged or bifurcated on my heavily wooded lot that I bought under-armour from Bxpanded. I will never use the mmm so it works out perfectly. It attaches to the MMM points and takes 30 seconds to remove for servicing.

I have a BX2680. What radiator fluid do you use? Do you drain the radiator and the block? My dealer indicates that they use Zerex Original Green and they do not sell the Kubota Genuine Coolant. However, I cannot resolve whether the Zerex meets the same standards as the Kubota coolant. I called Kubota but they do not have a clue. Interested in your thoughts and experience. To order the Kubota coolant costs more for shipping than coolant. Thanks BTW your KZbin video is outstanding.

@@Trialnerror so the BX2350 is still a decent machine? of course i will service it properly. my daily summer driver is a 1996 camaro Z28..... it has 249K on it and will still lay rubber for a city block if i feel in the mood. that car didnt get there by lack of oil changes. for my tractor i going to get a notebook, and probably change all fluids and fully service..... document all of it. i see you used 10W40, i thought diesels should get the 20W50, same oil used in a diesel truck ( i drive milk tanker)

Hi, I have a a B7 100 Kubota with a front loader that seems to have a separate reservoir for hydraulic oil. I am having a hard time finding videos for the B7 100. Do you guys happen to have any videos for that specific tractor?

Great job! My local Kubota Dealer (friend of the family) told my father that their is no need to change the UDT unless it starts to turn Milky. Can I change my Filter and check Screen without draining? Thx.
@Trialnerror
@Trialnerror Ай бұрын
You can but you're going to lose at least a couple quarts checking both. At that point, you may as well just change out the fluid. You can run old fluid but it looses all the viscosity and the metals needed to keep the HST pistons lubricated. If you wait until it's milky, you've already damaged the pump.

Hey great video ! Thanks I'll give it a try next week for the first time, I'm sure with you step by step I'll be ok. I have a bx23s with a backhoe, I'll remove it (the backhoe) to do the work but that will mean leave "old" oil in the cylinders, will that be a problem ? I have some experience for something similar in my bike and car when changing brake fluid for the abs pump, and it has to be kind of done twice to remove it all, but I guess this is not that delicate.?

@@2002van I have a BX23S and getting ready to change hyrdro so have same question but didn't see any reply. So did you not worry about the fluid in the backhoe lines or change the fluid twice?

@@mitrekab833 Hi I don't know where his reply went 🤔 , basically he said , don't worry about it. The amount of "old" oil is not that much so is not worth flushing it twice. Hope it help

Thanks for all the great help! I did notice the engine oil "appears" to be a standard SAE 10W30 but not specifically for diesels, am I seeing this correctly? Is it safe to use conventional motor oil such as Mobil 1 10W30?

I've always run it with no problems but I'm sure there are purists out there that will point out some unlikely scenario where it's a problem. This is the internet after all :)

If the tractor has a front end brush guard/grill guard and/or front ballast weights, those have to come off too before the engine cover can be removed.
