The kick-off for the Men's Pole Vault was at 19:35 (local time). The City of Lausanne is located at an Altitude of 526m (1,726ft) above sea level.
The event featured ten competitors eight of them were Tokyo Olympians: Ethan Cormont (France) and his compatriot Valentin Lavillenie, the remaining six were Olympic Finalists: KC Lightfoot (USA), Ernes John Obiena (Philippines), Piotr Lisek (Poland), Renaud Lavillenie (France), the Olympic Champion Armand "Mondo" Duplantis (Sweden), the Olympic Silver Medalist Christopher Nilsen (USA), and not an Olympian, but, nonetheless a Competitor of High Importance: the Reigning World Champion Sam Kendricks (USA).
The former University of South Dakota Coyote Star Christopher Nilsen (USA) managed to clear a height of 5.82 meters, enough to win the Competition, a 2.513% decrease with respect to his Personal Best of 5.97 meters (Olympic Silver Medal winning height).
Athletes competing under a White Flag are A.N.A. ie, Authorized Neutral Athletes.

Notice how position number five is tied, all three athletes managed to clear that height on their first try.
