Looks like you're going to end up with a fun runner.😎👍

It was definitely a fun combination. We can't wait to get it going again!

I’m doing a very similar build. I’m sticking with 351w internals. I splurged on renegade 185’s 58cc with upgrade on springs and rocker studs. Also bought new tko 600 long before tkx was released. Been 5 years collecting all the parts. I measured 7.6685 on pushrods. I’m using same rocker arms as yours. Also summit 8902 cam hoping the factory dish pistons help with valve clearance. Any advice on oil pump. I have a high volume because originally planned on going with junk yard shortblock. But have read that it may be too much and floods heads and valve seals. At this point I’m really watching my costs. Don’t have the $$ I had a few years ago.

We have run Melling standard volume standard pressure on all our builds and haven't had any issues with oil pressure. However, I definitely recommend upgrading your oil pump drive shaft.

Thanx for this info,im doing a 70s-- 351w,about the same as your's, putting it in a 76 bronco,35 inch tires,but cant decide on my cam,i want to go roller,& looking for best torque profile, no racing but great bottom end estreet heads 2.02 valves ,any suggestions,??? Thanx
@QuarterHorseCustoms2 ай бұрын
Are you going retro-fit roller with a factory spider or link bar?
@trtony-xe4cl2 ай бұрын
@QuarterHorseCustoms yes retrofit roller,but not sure yet which is best link bar or spider,????
@QuarterHorseCustoms2 ай бұрын
If I were to do it, I'd get a small base circle cam and drill and tap for the factory spider and factory roller lifters.

Do you have to do the clearance in the cylinder walls, for this build? I might just go 351w lol
@QuarterHorseCustoms7 ай бұрын
Yes the bottom of the Cylinder walls will need a little grinding to clear the rod Bolts.

I am eye balling the Summit 303 Plus for my budget 302 for my car. How does it handle on the street? I could only find a couple of idle clips online, but it sounds mean.
@QuarterHorseCustoms11 ай бұрын
I absolutely love it, only issue I have on the street is that my compression ratio is high so I'm running 110 race fuel so it's expensive, other than that there is absolutely no complaints about the cam!
@KrisGreenhill11 ай бұрын
@@QuarterHorseCustoms thank you for the feedback. For the price, it looks like a real winner. I was also looking at the Trick Flow 2 or 3, but I'm extremely cheap, and the Summit looks like an even better deal.
@QuarterHorseCustoms10 ай бұрын
I apologize for the late reply, I was also looking at those, I did the compare and for the price I couldn't argue with the summit brand.
@robertbruneau1129 ай бұрын
with that intake closing early (39-44) deg your dynamic compression is high, you will need to run at least a mix of 93 and 110
@QuarterHorseCustoms9 ай бұрын
We're running 110-112 race gas. We're getting ready to do an E85 swap tho
@jessekampegaard84919 ай бұрын
running a little bigger cam might have helped some

Nice build what’s the actual compression ratio ? Is it 12.1
@QuarterHorseCustoms10 ай бұрын
According to Summit Racing compression calculator it's about 11.91:1 it definitely does not like 93 octane above 2k rpm!
@tonymontana434910 ай бұрын
So basically it’s a track car not a street car ? I have the same build and timing is at 34 degree total on pump after driving it around timing had to come down to 30 29 and still I can hear the heat somewhat detonating somewhat
@tonymontana434910 ай бұрын
What timing do u run or try to run
@QuarterHorseCustoms10 ай бұрын
15 initial 32 total
@tonymontana434910 ай бұрын
Gotcha nice build but to me on a street car wouldn’t it be better to run a 72 cc head to lower the compression and benefit from the build
