The timer at the beginning of the game is the setup time. You’re less likely to get much activity within those first couple minutes. Less to no ghost events etc.

setup time guarantees the ghost cannot hunt you while it’s active. your sanity can still drop, but the ghost cannot hunt you until the setup timer ends. it can still event and give you interactions, but it cannot hunt you

Setup time is basically a safe timer where nothing can attack you until after that timer runs out. And the timer doesn't start until the front door is open, so carry what you need to the door and then go in.

That’s not setup time, that’s the grace period, my best guess is that if u stay out of the house long enough the timer will start and that’s the setup time

@banks1014 Timer doesn't start until the front door opens. No matter how long you stay in the truck beforehand.

Camera can take pictures of ghost (in dots, hunt, ghost events), any items moved/touched by ghost immediately afterwards, salt piles after they've been walked in, cursed items, and the bone which is in every map, ghost writing if written in, crucifix if burned
