I am planning to update this guide hopefully after Reach Out of Time + 120 Farming (Nov 2019). I know many people have found this helpful but what sorts of changes would you like me to make? I'll try to hopefully make it shorter and easier to explain but I don't want to cut too much detail. Feedback is welcome!

PoF looks confusing even with as great explanation so I can understand you're PoV. What I suggest for you in your case is farming chinchompas in small pens, sheep in medium and cows in large at this point.

So i joined the PoF movement yesterday with 68 farming and have both small pens and a med pen with no more beans. Confused, I bought a bunch of assorted baby chins and maxed the small pens with bb chins to grow to elders. I was looking to bean em off and refresh from my stash of chins, but I keep hearing about allowing a pair of adults/elders to breed in the pens. Could someone explain this particular method? From what I gathered from these guides is you put in a pair to breed, which make eggs, then you sell the elders or keep them? Do you wait until you get eggs that check into a proper pair? And do you keep a stash of food for them at all times or is the baby production rate negligible to allow to starve and become diseased? I am basically looking to let the pens do the multiplying on their own with little-to-no input on my own as far as buying anymore babies to 99. Thanks!

You only need ONE breeding pair in each pen. The rest of these babies that grow to elder can just sell for beans. And yes you do need a stash of food at all times.

Might have missed it in the comments, but just in case no one asked it yet: When going for these animal via hunting/killing, do we need the required farming level to breed it in order to receive it or can we get the baby but not be able to use it until we reach the level to raise them? Only asking because I've done a shit time of dragon killing since the farming update and I haven't gotten any eggs, but my level is under 92 (currently 88), so I figured either my luck is really bad with this or I need to hit lvl 92 first in order to see results.

Thanks nice guide, lots of info packed in there. However you said to get royal dragon must be a black dragon. Not sure if you mean 1 has to be black or both? I can definitely report that both parents do not have to be black. I have had royals with a black and red dragon. Tis actually my most successful pair, even compared with a pair of black dragons with what i would call perfect trait set up. First time I've watched your videos but will keep an eye out for more, very comprehensive thx

Yea that's a lot of info! In order for a dragon to be royal the baby has to be a royal dragon. Therefore having 2 black dragon parents makes it nearly 100% chance that the dragon is a black dragon so it rolls the chance of a royal dragon much higher. Having 1 black dragon parent + 1 non-black is still possible though rarer because child isn't always black dragon. And yeah I do a lot of guides btw :)

For POF I prefer to use fruit over seeds as I can grow arc berries and claim the free cooking apples and pineapple.

Yes. Buy babies from FC (or w2). Then grow to elder and sell for beans. Use rest of beans on woody beans.

I have a problem with the tutorial and my mate cannot get his head around this either, i have returned to rs3 today and he tried showing me player owned farning, we were on the tutorial and we got to the point where i bought the small deed and bought both the doe and buck rabbits and when we built the pen he said to look in the pen and add/create but there isnt an option to add the rabbits nor are there in my inventory, ive tried talking to the granny again but shes just going on about putting the non existent rabbits in the pen. Is this bugged or am i missing something? I even tried putting food in the trough but it said i dont have any pets and we tried waiting but still no rabbits.

They will add up for w/e stage(s) you missed out on. So yes, you will get all 4 stages from baby to elder.

I'm not buying unchecked animals. These animals are actually "checked", which are not tradable on the GE (only tradable via players). But yes I am raising them to elder then selling for beans.

Yes you will get exp when fully grown (but only one-time gather). Once you've gathered everything at elder stage, you need to replace.

I would say Genetic Instability on mulitple parents helps get 3 trait slots. this is truly all random other than that.

Adoption only works with a same gender partner and has to be inside the breeding pen. Also, no bad luck mitigation. The chance of adoption is 100x less successful per breeding cycle so I would highly not recommend it.

@@TonixRS I understand. I have two males chins and I'm hoping that they would mate so I wouldnt have to deal with catching another and hoping it's a female. Does that mean that if the average time for breeding for chins is 5:33 it would be a 100 times that to adopt a baby?

I was an ironman in that situation but after 17 days still no baby adopted. I had to go ahead and catch the chins. I mean they're good hunter exp so I went for it.

Not a beginners guide unfortunately. I'm a returning player and I still don't get if I should just go for the highest animals, for all animals once.. what animals to have in the breeding pen.. why not to buy animals from ge etc etc etc. As well as explaining why all food is so cheap, except for the mushrooms.. I just don't get it

A lot of people have found this VERY beginner friendly but I don't blame you for not understanding it the first time. POF is a very big update and can take time to learn. When I first learned this, it took me 2 months to understand everything of the why/why nots. Btw, for these examples I did indeed explain what you asked but I'm gonna repeat it again. 1. Yes highest animals. 2. Yes. All at once. 3. Highest animals in breeding pen. 4. GE animals are generally more expensive. 5. Mushrooms are expensive because there are hardly ANY choices for feeding Zygomites. So my advice is, patiently learn this because no matter how clear I explain things, you still have to give yourself some time to learn. Hope it helps :)

Just thought it helped people clarify certain things rather than completely (which would take even longer in a video, so no blame there to you) start up. Anyways, I think the video was great for most, just not for me. And yes, I have asked around too and friends say it's a big update with lots of things to consider and all. I did the tutorial last week, and got 2 zygomites in the meantime (from harvesting the mushrooms in the 2 spots). I placed those in a medium pem along with mushrooms to eat. However, not sure what to do now. Move them to breeding pen? Currently still have the bunnies from tutorial there

You should fill your breeding pen with the highest available animal. In your case add zygomites there. And yes it can be a bit hard to understand. I'm planning to redo this video if you're interested since PoF has gone through a few changes + we're getting new pof animals coming this November 2019. I'll try to gather some feedback on how I can change things differently.
