Showing strong ties of the applicant to their home country is very crucial that determines if they will be approved for a VV or not. Showing your funds might be a bit tricky. I'll suggest you to consult with a regulated immigration professional to explore this option as well other options that might work.

The applicants proof of funds is not necessary. However, if you both do have a joint bank account with some bank balance then you can show the bank statements etc. as a proof

When they say application number, are they talking about UCI or some other number? also, i watched your whole video there wasn't a section where it asked about the existing spouse application or PR application accept the UCI number thing. There's a UCI number as well as the file number. If the applicant never applied to come to Canada before they get assigned a new UCI. And file no. is specifically for each application submitted.

You applied under the hotel category earlier. If you have a Canadian resident immediate or extended family member in Canada then you can go with this new process I talked about in this video. Processing is pretty fast. And you will not need to give your biometrics again.

I believe it is mandatory but if you're sponsoring her then yours are more important. Funds from both yours as well as your mother's strengthens the case. Also, you have the option to show your mother's assets as well like property etc. back home.

@Canadian Desi - Hey, Thanks for your videos they are quick and useful. I just got married and wondering if I should apply for visitor visa first or spousal sponsorship first. She is working down there and am settled here, only intention is to bring here ASAP. Her spousal sponsorship will take some time to apply as we haven't got PCC yet and the appointment is still a month away. So, I was thinking can/should we apply for visitor visa first and then apply for spousal PR. Does that visitor visa complicates spousal sponsorship in any way? Thanks again!

You can very well go with a visitor visa and then apply under the Inland Sponsorship once she is here. This does not affect processing of the other because both are considered separate applications. Just make sure while applying for Visitor visa, you are showing her strong ties to her home country.

As per CIC, You can stay in Canada while waiting for your permanent residence as long as you maintain legal status. Temporary resident status is valid for a specific period of time and you must ensure that your status as a temporary resident remains valid while you are in Canada.

Being a homemaker, the chances of a visitor visa shrink because you won't be able to successfully show her ties to her home country. I'd suggest go with work permit first but since it takes long, you can still take a chance with Visitor, who knows it might work out.

There is no such specific thing as a dependant Visa. For people in Canada on a work permit can only sponsor their spouse for a spousal work permit along with a TRV for the dual objective of entering in Canada as well as working.
