So helpful. We did a bit of this last year and the year prior. We are 2nd and 4th now and are ready to dive right in. Watching your review on this refreshed my memory. Thanks! I agree on the printing two student books. I had the same thought, “ I’ll just make copies.” Didn’t work for us either. I’ve got a freshly printed copy ready to be bound.♥️

I hope you love it this year too. Printing 2 copies I’d definitely the way to go 😉

Would you recommend this, History Quest, or Build Your Library for K/1st grade?
@HomeschoolHappyHour2 жыл бұрын
Good question. I haven’t tried History Quest or Build your Library. I’ve considered it, but Build your Library used Story of the World when I looked at it. I considered trying History Quest this coming year, but I don’t want to overdo our stack of curricula.

Another question: I just watched your top 3 favorites and least favorite video. At what stage does my daughter need to be reading to start Lightning Literature grade 1? Thanks!
@HomeschoolHappyHour2 жыл бұрын
@@melissamoore280 she does not need to be reading at all, the younger grades are set up so the early readers can do it OR they can do it while being read to.

Can I start in any time period? Or do we need to start with ancient?
@HomeschoolHappyHour2 жыл бұрын
While the books are presented in chronological order, I don’t believe it’s necessary to complete them in a designated order. I don’t know if the next levels do an introduction to the characters, but I don’t think that’s essential.

Thanks for your review. Would this work with a child who cannot read?
@HomeschoolHappyHour3 жыл бұрын
100% It actually comes with full audio. We didn’t use the actual book that much as we listened to the audio book while completing the work pages. For a kid learning to read or an early reader it is a great opportunity to follow along while listening to the audio

Did you buy the timeline separately?
@HomeschoolHappyHour3 жыл бұрын
I believe you can get it separately, but I purchased the “pack” which included the audio, the hardback book and all related digital materials
@torriemorales92223 жыл бұрын
@@HomeschoolHappyHour Okay because we started with early modern and it wasn’t included and I was so worried we did it wrong. Haha

Does Curiosity Chronicles cover the same amount of time periods and events as Story of the World? Any historical periods or topics missing from CC?
@HomeschoolHappyHour2 жыл бұрын
I cannot say how it compares to SOTW because we never completed SOTW. I found CC to be quite thorough for the time period, but there’s always more to learn, no matter what curriculum you use.
@user-vg8ez9cu6u2 жыл бұрын
@@HomeschoolHappyHour thanks for the quick response. If you still have SOTW, would you be able to check the table of contents for me and compare it to the one in Curiosity Chronicles to see if they cover the same material, please? I'm sure other viewers would appreciate it as well, given that SOTW is the big kid on the block and we're all trying to make decisions on which to buy. 🙏. I'm looking for a swift curriculum (without the fluff) that is very thorough.
@HomeschoolHappyHour2 жыл бұрын
I don’t have SOTW anymore. It is not a secular curriculum, so we don’t use it. Sorry I couldn’t help more
@user-vg8ez9cu6u2 жыл бұрын
@@HomeschoolHappyHour oh, I thought it was secular! Sorry about that. Thanks for trying to help 🙂

I had the very same question! From what I hear they are very similar but I’m trying to see which one is more encompassing and diverse.
