My Dad bought me The Complete Sherlock Holmes book at my behest when I was 9 yrs old. That's how I learned analytical reasoning and logical deduction. 8 yrs of college, post grad. Never feared nor failed any test. Multiple choice "yawn". Essay "yawn ". Research papers "yawn ". Oral presentation "yawn ". Novels can be as instructive as any textbook. Long live Sherlock Holmes!

In my 20s read through tjis tome in awe and splendour. Not sure the audio will emit the commensurate affect . I think its the accent. When reading one can endeavour settings in the mind whilst meandering amongst the lines,pararaphs, chapters and last period of each story closed. I possess an original Strand Magazine compilation (handed down in the family) which was bound into book form. It contains several Sherlock Holmes stories with original illustrations. Growing up I considered it a curiosity but I was not all that interested in its contents.
