I forgot how much work went into just getting the thing apart! Great retrospective, and the music from your dad is top notch. This video will be a family treasure.

Top job there John. Thinking back on it now, it would have been easy to decide it was scrap when you started but you have brought it back to all its glory. Well done.

That was a very tough nut John. Great job again, and brilliant job on editing and your father's music.

It took time and hard yakka but turned a bit of scarp into a working gem, well done John.

I had forgotten just how nasty some of that looked inside when you first started. Nice to see this high-speed version of the restoration.

P.S., we might all remember that they are called joints and not gaskets on a steam engine! :-) That had to feel good putting it together for the final time.

Watched one expert and listened to another. Great job John and also to your great Dad's memory.

Gotta love metal, tough yet malleable so enough effort can always bring it back around. Also cool to see Royal Purple on the other side of the pond

Crazy how much shite was inside that crankcase! You certainly did a cracking job getting that thing puffing again! The music by your Old Feller was a nice touch!

John I remember when you got this engine Watching you tear down what I saw as a piece of junk you turned it into a beautiful working piece of art Amazing how patients, perseverance, wisdom and perhaps a lot of stubbornness can do Great job john

Well done Bonny Lad! You dad's music sounds like the Grand organ at Radio City Music Hall in NYC, when I was a wee lad. Sweet!

Wow John, It's so easy to forget just how crusty that one was. You did a great job on it, I watched every one. You did a great job on the compilation too, and it was a treat to listen to the Old Man on the organ. All the best, Mart in Solihull.

Where has that 18 months gone? Of course, your Dad's music was the only choice of accompaniment. A fitting tribute to him. I am sure he is very proud of your achievement with this engine. 18 months ago I was a sceptic. You proved me wrong with no small flourish. I take my hat off to you.
