I really like that they gave a good amount of character those special cinematic combo ender moves (qcf 3 for Raven, Leroy has b4, Paul has the elbow into slam, etc). They aren’t always optimal but it’s nice to have something to give combos that bit if satisfying flair at the end instead of just a limp hit.

Any tips on how to connect that? I'm rather new to Tekken and I feel there's something I'm missing here. I can connect everything fine until the crouch dash 1,2, but I either do the motion too fast and a standing 1 comes out or I'm too slow and the CD1 doesn't connect.

there is a three frame window of tolerance for the cd1 inputs after ff3 the only way to get it consistently is to grind it out

Thank you for this video ! I'm learning the game with Victor for now but Raven is in my favorite characters list since the last beta. If Victor wasn t there I would pick Raven for sure. I take your video for later. During the beta I thought Raven was super intuitive and simple to play compare to how it was before and is super fun. It is going to take me a good bit to remember just how much of certain things were unique to Master Raven and either had no real exact Raven equivalent prior to 7 and/ or in 8 the animation and physical move is tweaked. I legit forgot that Maven's qcf+1,2/ Fatal Elbow to Metal Storm was something that Raven technically didn't have in other games before and the usual b+2,4,2 Maven extender was its own thing but obv carries on in a better way; the new animation rules. I def do agree with your points in other vids, yes Raven can be a little confusing if you're going in new but you're 100% on the money these big combos are a little easier to setup and work on than say in 7. I'd have to go in and cross compare but I seriously don't recall Maven's stuff giving you nearly as much generous windows of time with how long your opponent is physically in the air for mid combo to input the next move. I am no pro at the character but there were so many situations where it was way easier to drop a combo due to a very slightly off calculation. Also helps T8 Raven's simple 1 punch can help massively in between. Thanks a bunch for doing this video, good stuff!

I think at 1:36 combo you can use 3~4-(bt)-3,4-bd2,1... for extra dmg and not just 3~4-(bt)-3-bd2,1...but i am not sure if this possible

Hey, I think I just discoverd a new tech with raven! After counter hit with CH db4, you can semi-float with f2,3 into soul zone 4 for about 50 damage! Also, the last hit from f2,3 can floor break leading to a full combo! I don't know if you know this already. I also haven't test it with small characters

So all the WS ones are done by opening with wave dashing? From what I understood, you had to be crouched and on your way up, you press a button which counts as "rising." But you're bypassing that but wave dashing which is essentially a crouch. Is this the rationale?

You have to delay it. For some reason Raven has like a stupid amount of recovery on his standing jab, its something like 30 frames you have to wait after the ff3
