You've really done a beautiful job setting up this rig! I love the flat panel/dust cap from Deep Sky Dad! That would be perfect for the WO Zenithstar 61mm I bought a few months ago! I've tried it with my SLR and it beats plenty of triplet apos out there in glass quality with only doublet lens elements and flattener. Perfect stars right to the edges of the field of view. Also You've done a fantastic job with the saddles, electronics and cable management! Beautiful! Clear skies.

Absolutely EXCELLENT! Sir, if you have time, would you one day, please create another video describing how you control the EQ8. What software do you use and so forth. Clear skies.

Thanks, absolutely, keep watching, but in short, I use the superb Green Swamp Server driver, with again the superb NINA software, and all free….👍🏻

I love your photos. I love that you don't over saturate the color channels. My favorite astro nerd on KZbin is the same way. She has a unique color pallet and she never over saturates the color. Thanks a lot for showing the flat panel for your refractor. Now all I need is a flat panel solution for my 10" Newtonian. Any ideas? I've been looking at DIY LED panels but I'd have to solder in some brightness control and hue controls unless I can find one with them already installed.

Thanks for your nice comments The flats panel is great and it’s worth asking the company if they will make One for your scope and they do make to order 👍

Great video & that's a cracking setup you've got there to, I'd be interested more about that camera you have from Amazon as I'd like something like that for mine, I do have a webcam in there but you're kinda limited with it.

Nicely done. I have everything going through the mount itself so my NUC sits on the ground at the bottom of the pier/tripod. It works well for me.

Wow you have plenty of money to spend! It took me two years saving, living on disability checks to buy my Synta HDX110 mount. Broke my wallet for a while so all I have in the way of scopes is the 10" Orion f/3.9 astrograph and the William Optics Zenithstar 61mm and just a Canon 800D (T7i) for taking pictures. I don't even live out in west Texas. I live near Houston and I drag that monster setup out to west Texas three or four nights in a row, two or three times a year. Thats all I get for imaging each year and I choose a different Bortle 1 or 2 site each trip to see what's out there. Momma and I will be buying some land somewhere west of here in a couple of years so where looking at different places. West Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah or Arizona will be where we land. Most likely New Mexico. Colorado is too expensive! Oklahoma has a few good dark areas and I have relatives there also but we love New Mexico. We can't wait to get away from this rat race near Houston, with all it's light pollution and stress. We know that when we get there and get settled we will know what really living is. Then I can finally perfect this dream under near perfect skies. Good luck to you. I know that clear dark skies are rare in England but you seem to have good grip on this art. Clear skies to you and Happy Christmas.

Clever setup! NINA monitoring the IP camera? What the hell is it possible? I feel a bit like an idiot not to be aware… 🙄😬

Thanks Yes you need the RTSP plug-in in NINA for it to work, but works extremely well indeed….and it’s good to be able to see the kit when slewing, to monitor…👍🏻

Hi, great set up by the way, can I ask please what Bluetooth adaptor are you using, wondering if I can use it with the ASIAIR PRO rather than eqmod cable?
@Astro_Shed
@Astro_Shed Жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks very much I use the Shoestring Astronomy BT adapter, but they and old model are no longer available, as I have been trying to get a second one as a spare…the only other ones I know of are made by Dew Control, as for working with the ASIair, I don’t see why not…

Doesn't the dehumidifier need to be left on all the time?
@Astro_Shed
@Astro_Shed Жыл бұрын
Hi, no not at all, the small heater works well overnight and keep the humidity down to around 70%, then in the day when it’s always slightly warmer anyway, it stays around the same, occasionally when it’s really damp outside I put it on for an hour and it shifts a litre of water out the air, and can bring the humidity right down…Domes do suffer quite bad, but as this is a 20mm thick wooden structure, humidity is not a real problem…👍🏻

That's an awesome setup Stewart! Well done sir. I have a Vixen ED81SII+Reducer paired with a QHY 268C and have a similar, but much cheaper setup compared to yours with the HEQ5 PRO+Pegasus PPBA+Focus Cube 2+Mele Mini PC and a 60x240 guidescope coupled with a QHY 5III 178C. And I usually shoot from our estate in the Himalayas at an altitude of around 1935 meters. Just a quick question: Did you face any issues using Microsoft remote desktop (RDP) when using the USB3 WiFi dongle? I too have a similar dongle as the Wifi on the Mini PC gets iffy at times, but I always have an issues with RDP failing to login due to some security issue. SO off late, I've had to pull an ethernet cable to the mount. Thank you in advance! In case it is of any interest to you, my Instagram page is: instagram.com/astrokumaon/

Thanks for the nice comments… I do not get any issues with RDP, but when I first set it up I did have issues with security, and not sure what I did, but there was a setting in the windows registry I had to change, but have no idea which one, I just did a google search and found the solution, but that was 18 months ago…the Wi-Fi dongle has been rock solid, far better than the PC built in wifi… Hope you get it sorted..👍🏻
