MAY ALL ZHONGLI WANTERS BE ZHONGLI HAVERS! Just a few things to add on: - I forgot to mention Retracing Bolide as a Physical DPS set oops - If you have Zhongli at C2 and use your Burst without casting your shield first, the Burst will still do damage with the shield's resistance shred, so you don't have to worry about losing damage by not shielding up first then Bursting. - You may notice my Mona took damage at 28:20 despite having a shield up. This is just a common bug where if you swap characters exactly when you were supposed to take damage, the game doesn't register the shield for some reason and the character that got swapped out will take damage. Just a bug that's existed since the start of the game. - If you have a problem with me shitting on shieldbot builds, that's on you. You are free to build however you like, but shieldbot is objectively a shitty build (waste of damage potential, massive DPS loss, unable to provide extra support due to inconsistency with Fav etc.) and I will always advise against it. Don't blame me that you wanted to use a lazy shitty build and I said it sucked. I hope you guys enjoyed the guide! Its my longest and most in-depth so far and I worked really hard on it. @@AuGAlaN Golden Troupe is really only feasible in a a microwave team, but even then I wouldn't use it over the 2pc sets because if you were building for pillar damage, you would be focusing on Geo DMG which means you want his Burst to do good damage too. In that case 2pc AP + 2pc ATK is still gonna be the best option. You will lose too much damage on his ult for it to be worth imo. Also I've spent like 4 thousand resin on that domain and don't even have a full set yet so that's L

My personal advice about Zhongli: Give him all hp% that you can with black tessel and you have the best Zhongli possibly. I believe Keith has lost himself a bit in his obsession to boost playerdps in a game that is 99% about exploring, solving puzzles and farming stuff. In this game Yelans E Kazuhas E and Zhonglis E are the three kings not because of there dmg instead of there quality of live. Iam in full trust that this wisdom will come to Keith sooner or later because besides this flawed onesided and agressive (not in a good way) guide he usually delivers perfect guides and fun and informative to watch. If you are really a damage believer and openminded to critic then ask yourself: Are 3 dps not enough even for the abyss? If we go 100% with all ressources into dps how long will the enemys live? 5 seconds? Is this "the perfect way" to guide new players to? Naaah. If you really want the best dps possibly just dont make a guide about Zhongli because this is not his job in this game. But I get where you coming from!

Specifically for Neuvillette, 4pc ToTM is useless because the Atk buff won't do anything. Neuvillette is a fully HP scaling character. For other DPSes it'll probably be fine though

"In lieu of" means "in place of." So, it is incorreect to use, as he is currently rerunning. That said, I appreciate the guide! Thank you so much for updating it. I just figured I'd let you know this, I'm not sure if English is your first language (it isn't mine), I'm guessing not because for us, these expressions/slangs are more difficult to understand. So like, for example, you could say for people paying their respects at a funeral to donate to a charity 'in lieu of flowers,' meaning "in place of flowers/instead of spending money and buying flowers for the deceased, the family would prefer the attendants to donate to a charity in place of what would normally be given [flowers, in this case.] Hope this helps! I know idioms can be a little difficult. That said, I really love physical DPS Zhongli LOL. He was my first 5*, one of my favourite Genshin characters (Dottore obviously being my favourite, but of the playable characters, Zhongli is.) He carred me through the first 10 floors of abyss and physical Zhongli was the first character I ever built, with the then-new Pale Flame set. (Dottore's Pinion would be the first good artefact I got, with CD of 29.9%. I still use it, though not on Zhongli anymore, Ei has it now LOL, as an odd artefact since I have a very good EOSF/all my favourite characters use WDP as their spare if they're not Eula.) I used 2PC AP/2PC Noblesse for my Zhongli before switching to Millelith for floor 12, I like burst DPS Zhongli but for Abyss it is better to have his E/shield as meaty as possible, especially for this new abyss (this is the first time I use 4pc TOTM.) I love Zhongli and though Ei and Childe have replaced him in my OW, I like to play him with Hu Tao in abyss (ZhongTao team >), and with Ningguang for lower floors because they're both fun to use.

Mona is pretty much required for any meme nuke team. If you just want to the biggest possible numbers on his burst, Zhongli/Mona/Bennett/Geo Traveler. Use Bennett's burst to buff attack, then Mona's burst to setup her mark(careful not to break before Zhongli's ult), and finally nuke with Zhongli(setup shield first if you don't have C2). The geo traveler is there to microwave and battery Zhongli(as well as give the extremely powerful Geo resonance) between burst. If you don't have Mona, Xiangling can replace her; it will greatly weaken Zhongli's burst damange, but the Bennentt+Xilangling pyro core will probably end up doing more damage and won't interfere with pillar microwave.

Zhongli is what made me keep on playing Genshin and I just got him and I am so happy with my decision. He is literally the best character in this game and I’m just starting to discover his amazing abilities and to get to know him as a whole. I’m using Staff of Homa on him for slightly lesser HP and increased damage. But for his full HP I have Black Tassel R5 which gives him over 60 k HP ❤

Not really. The Hu Tao team is probably the only one, while other ones even for like Melt Ganyu or Itto teams, Zhongli is often preferred but not the best for damage. The thing is he's also never a bad option, so that's a perk many supports don't have

You might want to go look at his multipliers again lol. All of his damage is attack scaling. Only his A4 gives the additional HP scaling.

This is the first build guide of yours thats disappointing. My main gripe is your take on players who want a strong shield. Note everyone plays the game to just run through content and nuke everything. The biggest issue with Genshin is how easy it is to play through boss fight and open world combat. Being able to nuke everything is a huge problem in the game. I just pulled the shield hero last night (off four 10 pulls 😊) and all tho I didn’t need him it’s good to have a good shield hero in general

Dude, its a guide. Of course anyone can use a shieldbot build, it doesn't take away from the fact that it is objectively a bad build. The whole point of a guide is to give good meaningful recommendations, so why tf would I recommend a bad build like shieldbot in a guide? If someone was watching a build guide, it means they are looking to actually improve their account, so I'm not gonna sit there and give shitty recommendations because I actually value giving good information.

If you think over 50k HP is needed for a "good shield build", then you're just delusional and/or a shit player lmao. I literally said both Geo and HP goblets are flexible for those who favour damage or shield strength respectively, just that the Circlet and substats should be crit focused. If you think that makes the build have a weak shield, then your fundamental understanding of his multipliers is already askew. I didn't even say it had to be a good DPS build either, it just had to have a good balance of HP and crit optimally. Don't blame me that you wanted to use a shitty shieldbot build and didn't like that I crapped on it (because it objectively sucks). You are free to build him however you like, shieldbot or not, I couldn't care less. But trying to convince me that his shieldbot build should be recommended in a guide focused on helping improve builds is straight up stupidity.

Genuine questions 1st - My intention is to burst every rotation with my C2 Zhongli of HP%/GeoDmg%/HP% that only has 139.7% ER and is equipped with a R5 Fav Lance _is another character with a Fav equipped enough to help reduce his ER requirements so that I Burst every time or is it better if I give up on the Geo Dmg% Goblet for an HP% one that leave him at 150% ER? 2nd - How much his C3 helps with his shield strength? My Zhongli has 40400 HP, is on a 4-piece Tenacity set and can tank up to 17 missiles from Ruin Guards currently_ would I be able to surpass, at least, 20 missiles goin' for it? lol P.s.: Yes, I do have good crit ratio thanks to my substats
