Nice work fossil fool! This looks like a great upgrade form the old mechanism. I look forward to trying it out on our next sail together! Cheers

Sounds like a plan Caleb. Was worrying it would be so tricky to use that I'd be the only one who could do it, but then things got good on the home stretch.

You are my hero! this system is exactly what i was looking for... thanks for that! Is there any video where you show in detail how you made the wheels under the bench on the sides? How much weight can the wheels carry and how heavy is the boat?

Thx a lot. I do have a vid on the making of the wheels. Plz subscribe or check back. I was using traditional spoked wheels but the spokes were loosening and the bearings were too small and seizing and exploding. I stepped up the bearing size and rim strength. Boat weighs 330-450# depending how much gear I'm carrying.

@@fossilfool i subscribed and checked back... actually i have now seen all of your first mod videos, but i have not found a vid where you show the process of making the wheels!? what is the name of the video? The boat weights up to 450 pounds?! Wow, that is a lot and you can handle this with the bike and do not need any extra brakes downhill?

@@freakazoidvienna Haven't posted it yet. Thx for subscribing. Braking has been fine downhill at the speeds I go, but I can tell that an emergency stop wouldn't be safe. The rear wheel of the bike would skid and the boat would jackknife me.
