Are you a professional in the field? As far as I know they had to water the pitch before, same as everyone else. They used lights to take care of the turf before too because the stands were already too high. The new stadium will be more energy efficient. Electric motors don’t need so much maintenance. Friction isn’t a mayor issue, you can see how often railways are changed. Many industries use similar systems to move big structures like working stations. Also, this isn’t the first stadium with retractable-pitch, even the Vitesse has one. So yeah, I think Real Madrid and can afford it and get some revenue in one of the biggest cities in Europe.

Por cierto, Los ingresos anuales previstos por la explotación del estadio son 400 M €. O sea, con dos años se amortiza el coste de la obra, y si tenemos en cuenta que con anterioridad los ingresos por este concepto rondaban los 150 M € anuales, entonces en vez de dos años se tarda tres.
