You should install a route tracker app on your phone; 1. To see on a map where you've been and 2. You can find your way back if you get lost again by backtracking your route.

+ArtJourneyUK The crazy thing is that I had one, but because I was so unfamiliar with the area I literally couldn't figure out where I was going... especially once I was in the fields!!

I've done that loads of times, gone down country roads dirt tracts but in my car. thinking shall I carry on? or turn around? I should get out more on my bike instead of taking the lazy option.
