Watching this video has me excited to complete my first combat patrol of necrons by the end of this month! I definitely want to tackle some other combat patrols next year once Im mostly done with my necron army. Ill be moving on a bit to start my Leagues of Votann army starting with the CP. I have a majority of units for the Votann CP from their big box set from last year, just need those berserks now. Looking forward to your next CP, Id assume eventually you will have to resort to actually buying the boxes lol. Its nice to already have finished models for them. I just needed a doomstalker for the necron one thank god

I only need the doomstalker for the necron CP as well. But next month's CP is Orks, and I don't have ANY of those, so a whole new box it is!

Orks have been growing on me more and more since being part of WH. Im still coming around to 40k orks but with AoS Im really considering them after seeing their latest range reveal of new models.

I use Mr. hobby stuff all the time! I have decal softener, airbrush cleaner, files, soft sanding sticks, masking tape, weathering powders... they make great products!

Any chance on getting the modelled shoulder bits uploaded to a repository? I would love to be able to future proof my ghostkeels... the magnitizing is something that has kept me only building strike teams, but Tau is my favorite and what got me in the hobby. Have you had similar issues with the crisis suits?

@8:00 may i ask, did you put the gloss varnish only in the panel lines, and then you pinlined with oil wash? What varnish and oil did you use? and what mineral spirits did you use for clean up. Thank you

I spray GW 'ardcoat over the entire panel. (But you could brush it on) once that's dry I use inexpensive mineral spirits and a cheap tube of winton oil paint to mix the wash. Any mineral spirit will clean it up, so just get an odorless one to make it easier to deal with - and open your windows! :)

thank you for replying. so you wash the entire area so its easier for the wash to be cleaned. And a mix of mineral spirit and winton oil is used for the panel lines. then clean with mineral spirits. is it possible to just use GW shade instead? I am new at painting figures! @@thehammerofwrath

on smaller models, like infantry, I wash the entire model then wipe it away. On larger models, like the ghostkeel, I "pin" wash into the panel lines only. You can wash with GW shades, but it's a bit different. You don't need mineral spirits, of course. But a gloss varnish will help the GW wash flow into the recesses better. (then you can just use lahmian medium after it dries to matte down the gloss.)

if i do a zenithol highlight with the two primers, do i still need to do edge highlighting, and if so do i need to do it for both the dark area and the light areas? thank you @@thehammerofwrath

Edge highlighting white is tricky, because there's nothing brighter than white! For a white edge highlight to show up, you actually need to use an off-white as your panel color. With white, it's just easier to add some chipping along the edges to accentuate them and show wear and tear.
