22:52 its 2030 and akruas just released episode 591 of altengrad with a title: lets build some prefabs in new altengrad on Kepler 1649-c
@AdamBurianek926 ай бұрын
as this is a Central European build and I'm kinda familiar with this region, I'm sure that Episode 591 will be about finally finishing the highway ringroad of Altengrad... not because Akruas wouldn't be skilled enough to build it, but because it's how long it would take in real life, at least based on my home country's story, lol 😂
@Aiwendill6 ай бұрын
@@AdamBurianek92 episode 591 will probably be something "after NATO-Russia war" or its consequences (lack of money, etc)... like history repeates itself... :D

This series has come so far! I remember being hyped for altengrad long before it was hit by ww2 and how devestated i was that the beautiful tram-entrance in the old town was suddenly rubble... The dedication you put into this City over and over again to show history and change is the best thing i've ever seen in CS! Awesome content as always.
@GullibleTarget6 ай бұрын
The tram entrance was one of my favourite parts of the build. I feel like an old Altengrad resident who remembers the good old days but is very excited about the future.

Same, huge fan since i saw the first episode 2 years ago. Since then ive never missed an episode. Such a nice series. And yes, you really feel like an old citizen watching your town change. But the worst for me was when so much of the old town/inner city was torn down for panel block skyrises. I really wanted to write a hate comment, but thats just how history goes eh?

The lack of suburban sprawl in Altengrad is damn too high! Memes aside, it is definitely needed, especially in areas where there are old town apartments abruptly giving way to empty spaces. Implementing procedurally generated objects and strategically placing a few house 'pop cubes' within them could create a sense of a charming, less busy sleepy suburban landscape on the outskirts (just my opinion of course).

This is by far the best urban construction series I've found in a very long time. So informative, so innovative - each part is linked to a story and Hunter background information. Storytelling at its best. I hope there will be many more episodes, but there's not that much time left - it's the 90s after all. Hopefully, the next series will have a similar concept - perhaps presenting or continuing the history of US cities that donoteat1 started.

i came across this series when the WW2 special episode was posted. i was already subscribed. But, after that, KZbin, for some reason, never recommended me these videos... Until ep 89 was posted. i watched that and was captivated and, now, after 1 month of binge-watching from episode 1, i'm finally caught up with live episodes! ^w^ This series is great should really be featured officially. One of the best series i've seen, not just of CS, but in general. Honestly great.

This looks great! FYI, with the curbless road networks the elevated segments will clip through the terrain, so it’s super easy to design custom tunnel portals (just elevate the segment and sink it below the surface, then use a clipping surface to make the portal visible, then build the portal around it). Also works really well if you want to design stuff above the surface and then sink it underneath. Great video!!

isn’t an underwater tunnel a bit too expensive for a 90’s post communist country?
@egg_musubi6 ай бұрын
Probably, but the tunnel (like the rest of Altengrad) exists more as a visual example than as realistic infrastructure. I'm guessing Akruas placed the tunnel portals first and they coincidentally ended up across the river.
