Harbour freight is a good affordable place for tools and parts to work on our foxes 👍🏻👍🏻

be careful welding the bottom of the frame rail. MM frame connector procedure specifically warns against welding across the frame rail as the heat affected zone of the weld can initiate cracking from forces introduced when driving. Spot weld drills make removal of bits like bump stops and upper control mounts much easier and less of a bloody knuckle endeavor. Home Depot will be one of the most expensive places to buy material. A little googling will probably find a local steel fabrication shop that can shear, bend and do any form work for a few $$ out the back door. Cheers

I suppose now is a bad time to mention I’ll be notching my frame to move the control arms up lol i guess we will see how it last. I’ll keep my eye on it but realistically this seems like a possibility if i didn’t add the support too. Time will tell. I do need one of those bits but when i went to Home Depot they were out of them. As far as buying the metal it was a last minute thing. Most of the work on my car is happening after 5 or on the weekend so I’m a bit stuck with whatever is open. I will be buying some steel for the hard tail swap from somewhere else tho, Home Depot is too expensive when you need a bunch of stuff. I appreciate the input!

It's a compulsion, you've either got it, or you don't. Some people wear a tie and sit in a cubicle all day, typing into a computer, I'd rather hang myself. Lol. It's like a puzzle, but mechanical. Having stuff like this to mull over, and work towards, finding parts, and gathering the needed tools, just kinda gives life a purpose. Do I need an LS3 powered awd 6 speed Chevy cobalt? No. Will it be worth more than the sum of its pieces? Definitely not. Do I still work on it? You bet your ass!
