Great job! Only thing that bothers me is that you didn't use any weld thru primer for the reinforcement plates. Even though you used the sealant, I would still worry about it rusting between the surfaces.

Congratulations Kyle. It sounds like a champ. Are you still driving the car? If so have any new subframe issues arisen?

I can't imagine. These subframe plates are more than enough. Throw in a Vince bar or x brace and you'll never even think of subframe issues.

Have you checked out redish Motorsport on YT, they are a very good source of info regarding this topic. I fear you might have totally neglected the notorious spotwelds failing while you had the underbody exposed. It’s crucial to understand what’s happening back there when you hit the accelerator! Otherwise your hard work is not going to payoff for very long, especially when you going to hit the track... and if you thinking of installing a cage, do it proper, weld it in and make sure to integrate these mounting points to stiffen it up! Cheers

Join the M3 Facebook groups bother we could have helped you! CMP, and Reddish plates are a permanent fix unlike turner; however to fix separation issues you’ll need a mason/Vince bar

Man, I love that lift, gotta get me one of them!. Is it run by an electric air compressor hooked up to an outlet or hardwired to you electric panel?. Like your idea of hanging the wheels too, gonna look for something similar, great video man. Does the car feel more planted than before?

you drrilled the ends of that cracks and then welded them before putting plates on top?

Solid subframe bushes so thats why you hear all the noises like that whining noise inside cabin. Or atleast you camera picking up them. :)
@betonthis16 жыл бұрын
It would seem the best thing would be one long solid plate for that entire brace. I wonder why this was never a recall? I am a new fan to the e46 so I don't know the entire history but seems this happened to all M3 E46
@rusyaidijefri42636 жыл бұрын
I assume that whining noise came from the diff, cause of solid bushing won't flex to take the diff gear's vibration
@chipkipperly6 жыл бұрын
Are you assuming the whine is from the diff with fresh oil or is it something else?
@lucabergantino68945 жыл бұрын
Dear Kyle, can I have info about your lifter please? I would like to place something similar into my garage. thanks
@DaveMsport6 жыл бұрын
Change the diff bushes to oem rather than solid and will reduce the whine loads. Solid subframe bushes don't effect it that much really. Grewt job, it's a pity didn't research it a little more however and address the issue properly to prevent the whole panel flexing rather than just repair the local cracks around the subframe.

Can anybody explain why those solid bushings have so little surface contacting the subframe? It makes sense on rubber ones, but on the solid ones I don't see the reason not to provide more contact surface. This is a serious question, not trying to flame or anything. Thanks in advance! EDIT: by the way, whine noise may be coming from the center driveshaft bearing, you changed the guibo, but not the bearing itself.

I didnt see u put in fluid in the diff unless u put it in off camera but that would cause some whining
