"Floigan will do for SEGA what Mario did for Nintendo" - Bernard Stolar, SEGA of America President

Well, considering how dumb Mario is, (and his fans), you can't blame the guy!

Never got to play it back then but I remember wanting to rent it at least. As one of the consoles last big games, certainly seems like a lot of love & ambition went into making it.

Walk up a 5 foot plank to get sugar, or play through Ghouls n' Ghosts entirely twice without getting hit... I choose the latter. Jesus, the first 2 minutes remind me of the horrors of early 3d games/camera controls and analog stick controls! So many Dreamcast and N64 3d platformer/action games(even some Saturn and PS1) that their bad controls artificially made the game 500 times harder. But when say Turok 1+2 came onto modern controls, what a relief!!!

This is seriously still one of my favorite games from it's time. Being a kid back then, I wasn't as much interested in gaming as I am now so one of the few I managed to play was this one. I can understand and validate a lot of the criticisms about the game, but to say it had no charm nor unique concepts for it's time is completely baffling to me personally. This game gave me so many good memories playing it alongside my siblings at that time we first played it. There were so many unique things you can do in the game ranging from the switches & pipes, dealing with the tarantulas, playing mini-games to win points to advance both the story and gameplay more, trolling with Moigle for legit over an hour 'cause it's hilarious to see him mad, and this one was never mentioned before from what I have seen. There was a way you could trick Moigle falling into the river, but you'd have to try and get him to fall over the edge. Doing this launches himself up into the air and you'll have to try and make the run for it before he squashes you. XD Also this isn't a huge deal, but there also a way you can play multi-player with some of the minigames, including the boss fights. From what I have researched and experienced, the creators of the game were super passionate about creating this game and it shines through from the amount of details and antics they've added in. Frank Weller (voice of Fred from Scooby Doo) voiced Moigle whereas Jason Mardsen (voice of Max Goofy in the Goofy movies) played Hoigle. When I found that out it made the game even better for me personally. XD Andrea Romano helped to direct the game and his work has been known for casting and directing some WB cartoons. (Surprisingly, he also voices the kitten in the game as well). For anyone curious why episode 2 wasn't produced, I heard some rumors mention that by the time they would've made episode 2, the play-station was about to come out. Due to how problematic some of the coding would've been transferring the game over to a new console, they've decided to scrap episode 2 entirely. Which is unfortunate, because I really wanted to see what other kinds of trouble the Flogian Bros. could've gotten into. The best way I could describe the feeling of the game is similar to how PeanutButterGamer described the Humongous Entertainment games, "It's like playing through the cartoon and you're apart of it." -Something similar anyways.- I desperately wish we had more of these types of games and it's why I find this to be both super unique and fun to experience. Precisely why it's called *Episode 1,* but we only get to experience the pilot and nothing else. The creators mentioned years ago back in the early 2010's they wish to revive them whether it'd be another game or through a cartoon series. I really hope it'll somehow get another game out if not a cartoon. I would love to see what it would look like now with today's modern technology with the experience in game design and coding/programming. If Flogian Bros. was popular enough; I saw one of the members mentioned who worked on the game said they'd have them in Smash Bros. as well if they were popular enough. I didn't know so many people disliked this game, but honestly I'd recommend this to anyone who loves playing for a challenge and wants some entertainment from a WB-stylized game. Especially if you enjoy an open platform type of game. Once you can get a handle on understanding the game and it's techniques as to how to beat it, it becomes easier to go back and play through. I do agree that Moigle could've helped Hoigle more when doing certain tasks for better writing so both characters could expand beyond the surface of their characteristics. Not to mention how confusing some the mechanics are and it'd be nice if there was an easier way to do some of the tasks. I won't lie and say I wasn't ever stuck on the tutorial nor did I had an easy time beating it the first few times. With that being said though, despite what anyone else says, I'll always adore this game with my whole being. I had so many good childhood memories and laughs from this game and as someone who wasn't very much into gaming as a kid, somehow managed to beat this time and time again, this is one of the few that stuck with me. Every playthrough always had some meme-worthy material and I wish it had gotten more love and the praise it deserved while acknowledging the downsides of the game. Did it need to exist? No. Am I glad it exists? Yes, it's unique and a treasure from it's time and its something we'll probably never see again. Even if I am of the minor, I am glad to have played this game when I was younger for a few years and if I could I'd play it again.
