Complications after Lung Transplantation

In this talk, we do a comprehensive review of complications following lung transplantation. We discuss the reasons for lung transplantation, and cover bronchial anastomotic disorders, graft rejection, and infections that can occur after transplantation. We cover imaging patterns of complications such as bronchial dehiscence, bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome, and post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder. Specific complications like invasive aspergillosis and CMV pneumonia are also highlighted, along with their associated mortality risks. We emphasize the importance of understanding pathophysiology for making educated predictions on CT Imaging, and several teaching cases are presented to illustrate the diagnostic approach for lung transplant complications.
