Compline │ Anglican Night Prayer

Compline. A quiet, meditative version of night prayer, perfect for the end of the day, or at bedtime. This Anglican (Church of England) service is done by candlelight. It is peaceful and done in the traditional liturgical form. I use Psalm 91 in the service.

What a blessing to find this on KZbin. My book of Common Worship goes with me most places and comes out at various parts of the day for personal practice and for work related tasks. Aside from the power and nourishment which a repetitive cycle of prayer, written in such a manner that it is always fresh brings, is also the knowledge that, elsewhere, someone else is praying the same thing at the same time. United in the same prayer. To find a recording of Priest who really "gets it" leading compline, which is by far the most beautiful office, which I can listen to as I go through it, really is a thing most wonderful since it is the tangible embodiment of all that and - in an abstract sense - the very definition of that which collects. So thank you. It is much appreciated.

St Francis Anglican, Jonesboro, GA USA. Compline is always my favore! We are few in number now with this plague going on- between 7 to 11 each Mass. For Compline we usually trek over to Church of the Holy Spirit, where the loyal monks there hold a great candle light Compline. Pray for more faith to the believer, and may the fear of plagues fall to an appropriate level !!!🌹 Loved your film !!!

This is a beautiful video. So nicely done visually and in all other respects. Every one of the readings has great meaning for me. I love the introduction where you ask that we become still. Stillness is such a rare state for people of this age but Compline is a perfect time to cultivate being quiet, to listen. I really appreciated following along tonight! Can you tell me which version of the BCP you use so I can follow along better? I was using the 1979 edition of the American Episcopal BCP and some of the ordering and wording was different

I am using the Church of England common worship liturgy, so it is a little different from the Episcopal BCP :)
