Hey all, as usual extremely grateful for you coming in and watching this week's tutorial. Don't forget that you can duplicate the file from one of the links in the video description if you want to design along. We're one video away from wrapping up this series and I'm incredibly excited to dive deep into prototyping and animation next. By the time we're done, you'll barely be able to tell that this is a design prototype! Stay safe and catch you in the next one.

This is what I call advanced teaching. No frills, no fussing around, just straight to the point.

Thank you so much for this tutorial Javier! fyi, if like me anyone is having a hard time trying to figure out why the bottom radius was being lost when the "search" frame was turned into an auto layout frame is because, you need to have "clip content" checked in the right panel under the frame sub-category. Which, is shown in the video but I missed it.

@@JaviAlaves Hey Javi, you're welcome! I actually had one question - on 32:57 when you made the entire "Home Focus" frame an Auto Layout frame, the divider loses its original position shifting to the left edge. How would you go about preventing this from happening? Thanks!
@albertoserna60433 жыл бұрын
I just realised you explained it on 36:35 :)

@@albertoserna6043 Great catch. Auto Layout automatically aligns everything top-left when enabled, so what happened here is we lost our intended alignment. Here's a short video with the visual walkthrough on how to fix that: www.loom.com/share/bf2e47dbee624c7bb0f24b8bf90490fa

I really love these videos, they are super helpful! One annoyance I have, that can easily be fixed, is that we can't see the layer structure. Could you please drag the divider on the left between Pages and Layers up?
@JaviAlaves3 жыл бұрын
Yes! I've received this comment a lot and hopefully in the newer videos I've become more aware and am addressing it by either bringing moving the layers up or getting out of the way. Thank you for the feedback!

Hello Javier, do you have a recommendation WHEN to use variants for Icons and WHEN NOT to ? I ve seen a couple of videos where they had icons as separate components and not grouped as a variant component. Any suggestions?
@JaviAlaves3 жыл бұрын
Hey Daniel, that's a great question. There's minor trade-offs involved. I'll make a short video about this in the next few days with some thoughts.

@@JaviAlaves Hey Javier, did you ever find the time to make this video? Thank you.

Hi Javier, What is the shortcut who use at 4:26 ?
@JaviAlaves3 жыл бұрын
Hey David! Around that time I held the shift key to select both layers, and then without having to continue holding shift, I held the alt key while hovering around the layers to observe the spacing values. Let me know if that helps!
@davidprioul3 жыл бұрын
@@JaviAlaves Ok, ok, I thought there was another shortcut to distribute the spacing vertically that I didn't know ;) Thanks
