Lovely video, Danielle! Really enjoying being able to see the pedals in action and hearing specific examples from the literature!

Amazing, is it possible to do another video showing your pedal technique again?

I'm glad you found it helpful! Is there anything specific about pedal technique you would like to see in another video? What questions should I address?
@prosperousmarc55184 жыл бұрын
@@daniellekuntz you explained everything well, I would like to see do a performance with a pedal view to see your technique in action if possible. Thank you for your response and consideration.

@@prosperousmarc5518 Definitely, next time I do a performance recording, I'll be sure to include a pedal view!

Super helpful. The slides remind me of hammer ons and pull offs on a guitar. When notating frequent slides like in that last excerpt, should I put a new harp diagram for every pedal change, or give a starting pedal diagram? Or maybe is there a particular note you might expect to see in a score like that??
@daniellekuntz3 жыл бұрын
Good question! It really depends on the context of the score, but I usually like to see a pedal diagram at the beginning of each section/rehearsal number. Harpists may add in more for rehearsal purposes, but it's nice to not clutter the score with too many diagrams!

How fast could you play a chromatic scale? Would it be limited to two octaves because you would need to reset all of the pedals?
@daniellekuntz3 жыл бұрын
Hmm, it really depends. I would not assume any faster than 160bpm (one beat per note), unless it's a smaller segment. I wish I had a clearer answer, but so much of it depends on the context.

Thank you for this very clear video with cool excerpts. It helps to figure out what noise quick/slow pedal changes do. Also, I have an other mnemonic sentence to help visualize the pedals from left to right. --> Did Columbus Bring / Enough Food Going (to) America = D C B / E F G A.
